What Students Say
Likes
- Academic exposure and reputation being a part of Delhi. University gives good academic exposure and the curriculum is structured and the Delhi University tag itself carries the value specially for higher studies.
- Diversity of students and perspective. There is a diverse crowd from different backgrounds, which helps in learning beyond textbooks.
- Access to resources and opportunities, Delhi University provide access to library society and seminar even as a fresher, I can see that there are many opportunities available if anyone is willing to explore
Dislikes
- Administrative delays, sometimes due to confusion or delay in communication regarding notices, I missed a lot of deadlines and few official procedures of document verification
- Overcrowding, there are large number of students and it becomes very difficult to get personal academic guidance
- Initial adjustment for me as a fresher and attending system exam, attendance fees and internal assessment took time and the orientation given could be better
Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the B.Sc. mathematics honours curriculum as good in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. The syllabus is concept oriented and well strong theoretical foundations which is helpful for higher studies and competitive exams. The topics across semester is structured and this course is quite demanding and can feel intensive specially in the initial semester while the curriculum is academically, strong, incorporating more application based components could make it more better or balanced because it lacks there, and it's not more practically oriented.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since i joined the college in 2025, i am a fresher and have barely only completed my first semester. For semester one i paid 36400 as i have been in college for only 2-3 months i do not yet have detailed knowledge about the breakup of yearwise fees such as tuition fres and other components beyond what was charged for first semester Regarding scholarsthere were a few scholarship notification and opportunities available, but I did not apply for any of them since I did not feel the need to do so at that time
Campus Life
My overall campus experience at Daulat Ram College, Delhi University has been good. The social environment is friendly with active clubs and societies that encourage student participation. The infrastructure is adequate with functional classrooms and library facilities. The annual College fest is a major highlight which is Manjari offering opportunities for cultural participation and social interaction
Admission
I choose Daulat Ram College, Delhi University because of its strong academic reputation, specially for science and mathematics courses. Compare to other colleges. I applied to it. Offered more structured curriculum and academically focused environment. I could not secure admission to some other colleges due to high cut-off and intense competition, the admission process at my college was very easy centralised under Delhi University transparent and merit-based as well though highly competitive.
Faculty
In my class, there are 60 students which makes the faculty 2 student ratio moderate due to this class size. Individual attention is Limited and but most faculty members are approachable and supportive. If students reach out personal or during class as well. The faculty student relationship is generally respectful and professional. The examination system follows the semester based structure of Delhi University. Each semester includes internal assessments which are test assignments, attendance and one end semester university examination per subject over all the exams are moderate in difficulty manageable with regular study, but concept based rather than very easy.
Night Life
There is a limited nightlife around Daulatram College as it is located in a primarily academic and residential area, which is North campus students here often go to nearby cafes which located in Kamla Nagar or Hudson Lane being different colleges very near to your colleges, we usually attend events and fests of other universities as well for more active nightlife, students usually travel to other parts of Delhi like India Gate and generally, my hostel gate closes at 7pm
