Course Curriculum Overview
I'm a Commerce student with interest in Accounting which is why I chose B.Com (Hons) + this is the only course of commerce available in our college. Course can be made more interesting by improving the overall curriculum + by reducing the additional courses as those add unnecessary burden + not much relevant to what one needs.
Internships Opportunities
Internships such as 1) Hypedin company for Regional Community Leader with stipend 10k/m 2) Deccan AI company for AI Data Consultant with stipend 1000-1500rs/h 3) Ekara Financial Service Pvt. Ltd. For Business Development Intern with stipend as unpaid (training period) and paid (post training period) 5k
Placement Experience
From Semester 3, students are eligible for placements and our placement cell is very active. Job opportunities and internships posts can be seen sometimes in a week. The payscale is quite low, mostly remains between 3-5LPA. And a very few people gets placed. My plan after getting the degree is to become a qualified ACCA member.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fee that I pay is 18,741rs for my course i.e. B.Com (Hons). And the examination form that I paid for my 7 papers was 1,810rs. There's financial assistance available in our college. One has to get the form, fill it up and submit it to the admin office.
Campus Life
The infrastructure of our college is very old while our classes are held in the new block so not a problem to me. As for sports, there's a ground but it's too small width wise to host a football event. There's a badminton court and volleyball too. There's table tennis in a room. Societies are great to improve our communication and networking. Our college is said to have the best library and it's indeed true that it's beautiful. Easy to access and study peacefully.
Admission
One gets into DU based on their scores in CUET. I got this college as per my score and how I prepared my preference list. I applied for a private university in Bangalore but left it as I believe DU degree holds more value than that of a private university + the exposure one gets in DU is appreciable.
Faculty
The faculties of my course are great. They're helpful and cooperating. Teaches are great overall. Exams are easy when one studies. They're chill mostly. Course is good and sometimes it's difficult to approach the teachers as they're mostly absent in their department room.
Night Life
There's no gym inside the college campus and the college remains closed after 6pm. There's no hostel. Students who are from outside Delhi has to live in PGs or rent flats nearby. Cafeteria is the best area to hangout. The locality is almost safe I'd say at night as police keeps on patrolling on their bikes.
