My journey at Ramjas

I applied to Ashoka University and Christ University Bangalore. I was accepted in both the institutions however, comparing them to Ramjas College, Delhi University, they were not worth it. Ashoka University has a very high end fee structure, that is not easily affordable whereas Christ University lacks exposure to various aspects, usually common in college.

My course gives deep insights in my field, that is political science. In semester one, papers like Understanding Political Theory, Ideas and Institutions in Indian Political Thought and Colonialism and Nationalism in India. Such papers give deeper understanding of political theory and philosophy for students of first year.

Ramjas College offers internships through Pinnacle, the placement cell. Students, studying political science, often are able to land internships working with Members of the Parliament, elected representatives in the role of Research interns.

I study in Ramjas College, University of Delhi that is, wholly government funded and government organized higher education institute. The fee structure for arts courses is ?16098 per year for first year, and ?15012 each for the second and third year. The college also has a nominal fees of around ?250 per year for orphan individuals. The fees for OBC, ST AND SC and UR is the same, however compensation is given to EWS students Through the central government, numerous scholarships are offered to needy students.

The Ramjas College library has thousands of books on diverse fields. The college has premier societies like Ramjas Economic Review and Ramjas Political Review that publish journals with worldwide recognition.

Faculty ratio is 1:65 students (approx) The college does not conduct mid semester mid term examinations, only sem end exams. Exams are of medium difficult and close to 60% students clear in all subjects of exams. The course curriculum is highly relevant and is competent to world class universities.

As such, there are no evening or night based sports or activities inside the campus. The college offers a cafeteria, gymnasium, library that operates from 8:00 AM till 5:30PM from Mondays-Saturday. The nightlife around the campus is vibrant and moderately safe.
