Course Curriculum Overview
?I'm from a commerce background since my school time and the exposure to real world applications like taxes, management which we have deal in our daily life influenced my decision to choose this course. ?The curriculum prepares me well for real world applications as it taught us how to use tally and do business statistics in pc. ?The areas of improvements in teaching method according to me is to make the things more practical rather theory. For example:- accounts should be taught on tally rather than the traditional method.
Placement Experience
?From 5th semester onwards student becomes eligible for campus placement ?The companies visited:- ICICI Bank, Wipro, Max Bupa, S&P Global, FIS and others. ?Highest package:- 7.1-7.5 Lpa Average package:- 4.0-4.8 Lpa ?Around 40%
Fees and Financial Aid
?Annual fees is around ?1500 ?Exam form fee is around ?1000-1500 Yes, there are some scholarships such as:- ?Merit Scholarship for SC/ST students for students from those categories who have good academic records. ?Vice-Chancellor Students Fund for poor / deserving or handicapped students. ?DU & College Karmachari Union Scholarship this is for wards of non-teaching DU staff. ?VK Rao Endowment Scholarship - for students from families of class three/four DU employees. ?Delhi University Women Association Scholarships for daughters of jawans of the Indian Army. ?Vijendra Sharmila Chopra Memorial Scholarship awarded to blind students. Scholarship Eligibility:- Good marks/academic merit:-Different scholarships have different cutoff criteria. For many, belonging to a specific category (e.g. SC/ST, physically handicapped, children of certain DU employees, etc.). Sometimes proof of disability, caste, income etc.
Campus Life
?There are many fests that held regularly. Such as annual fest (Chetna), Diwali Mela, Onam celebration. ?There's a huge number of 40,000+ approx books covering English, journalism, Management, Psychology etc. available in the library. ?Accessibility:- the library is open from 9am-5pm on working days. ?There are many student run social groups, clubs and societies such as NSS, NCC, Catalyst, Vyavsay
Admission
I applied for many North and South Campus colleges. But I did a mistake in making the preference list and hence I got this college. ? The admission process:- ?must have completed 10+2 from a recognised board ?You have to give CUET-UG to get admission
Faculty
?Total enrolled students:- 3700+ Total faculty and staff:- 230+ Which makes the ratio = 1:16 ?The best faculties in the college are:- psychology, geography and social work. I personally like the psychology faculty as they are really nice and coordinate with you really well. ? There are 2 semesters each year. They are moderate in difficulty level and most of the students pass even if they study a little bit.
Interview Experience
I didn't face any group discussion yet but there are some topics I know. Role of celebrities in brand endorsement” ?Corruption is a necessary evil for success. ?Technology topics: e.g. robotics in surgery, robotics in agriculture. ?Genetically modified food: advantages and disadvantages. ?Government policies, public issues, current affairs, environment, social justice etc.
Night Life
?There if cafeteria and library in our college The timings are usually:- 9am-5pm on working days. ?The campus timings is also the same ?The famous hangout places outside the college are Yamuna vihar which has great cafes and good place to hangout. But the area is not safe to roam around at night
