Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the MME Department at VNIT Nagpur as fairly comprehensive and relevant with good balance between fundamental Science and applied engineering. The curriculum cover all aspects such as physical metallurgy and machanical metallurgy and so on. The course has exposure to both traditional metallurgy and to Modern Materials Science such as polymer. In terms of real world readiness the course emphasizes on practical exposure and through Problem solving skills
Internships Opportunities
According to new education policy there is institutes responsibility to help students to get internship opportunities after 2nd year ther are many roles offered in intership such as junior developer and junior Data Analyst roles
Placement Experience
In VNIT the students are eligible to sit for campus placements is after 4th semester that is from 3rd year and there are many companies which visit VNIT Nagpur such as Deollite, Google, Amazon, Accenture and many more, the placement percentage of last year is 77.59% with Highest Package of 64 lpa and average package of 11.57 lpa
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees for general candidate in VNIT is 150950/- for which 125000/- is tuition fees and 15500/- is one time fees for new addmission and 10450 /- is other fees. And for SC,ST and PWD students there is no tution fees they have to just pay other fees which is 10450/- and one time fees 15500/- only at the time of addmission. And there is scholarship for EWS or OBC Students based on there parents income if the family for any EWS/OBC Student is under 1 Lakh there will be full refund of tution fees which is 125000/- and any EWS/OBC Student whose family income is above one lakh and under 8 lakh there will be 2/3 fee waiver.
Campus Life
The campus life is very good here ther are many fests takes place including IG that is institute Gathering and DG that is Department Gathering and Asia's largest Cultural fest that takes place in VNIT Nagpur. And the library facilities are very well there is 24/7 opened study room in library and almost all books which are useful are present there.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel facilities are very well in VNIT Nagpur we got triple seater rooms for 1st year UG students and the fees for hostel and mess is 32000/- per semester and the quality and cleanliness is also very well.
Admission
I had Applied to Vit pune and I am getting Ai and DS there but my dream was to get an NIT so I dropped my decision and can to VNIT. I did not get any rejection from there I just rejected that college over NIT. The addmission process to get in at VNIT Nagpur is very simple you just have to go through JEE mains Exam and have to secuse atleast 96 percentile if you are an general candidate. And then you have to participate in joosa/CSAB councelling.
Faculty
I am at the Metallurgy and materials engineering course at VNIT and the Faculty at MME Department are very helpful and are easily approachable. And in first year we have 7 subjects and from this year we got some of our core subjects from 1st year itself. And I like our HOD he always motivates students from our department
Night Life
The night life of VNIT Nagpur is amazing there are number of canteens and there is one canteen which is open till 3 am for late night studing students we got juice and seasond fruit there. And the gym of VNIT Nagpur is very good which is free for all students
