Course Curriculum Overview

3

I felt that mechanical engineering syllabus is relevant till 3rd year and this courses are relevant to our daily life applications but the courses offered in the 4th year are outdated and need to be changed. The subjects relevant to AI and ML are only restricted 1 or 2 . The courses are focussed more upon theory than practicle .No softwares like solidworks and ansys thought in the college. Professors should adopt new technologies and teach relevant course to students.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies like John Deere, accenture and many more offered the internships for different roles. The average salary they provided is 30 to 40k per month. Many projects related to real world are done while completing the internships .

Placement Experience

3

From the 7th semester, the students can apply to campus placements. Many companies like tata motors, aditya birla, exxonmobile etc.., have visited the campus. In my 4th year around 40 to 50 companies came to hire the mechanical engineering students . The highest package is 20 lpa offered by EIL and average is around 8 to 10 lpa . Around 80 percent of students got placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total tuition fees of Vnit is around 6 to 6.5 lacs. The tuition fees for each semester is around 66,000 . SC / ST need not to pay any fees. They will get complete fee waiver. Fee waiver will be also given based on the income of parents. If the income is below 1 lac ,total fee will be waived off and if income is between 1 lac to 5 lacs , 75 percent of the fees will be waived off . There are no merit based scholarships provided.

Campus Life

3

Many fests takes place in the college. Axis is the technical festival and arohi is the cultural festival in college. Students can take upto 10 books from library and renew them after every 2 weeks . No provitions will be provided for the students. There many technical clubs like Team Velocity , Tesla, Shell and IV labs.Cultural clubs like hallabola are also there. So students can join and participate in many extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

Untill 2rd year , you will be given a 2 shared room .FROM 3rd year, we will be having a single room will 2 cupboards, table, chair and bed.Free lan also provided. Mess food is good .The quality of mess food is decent. Hostel fee is around 33k, and every penny of it is worth it. Good and clean hostel. Especially HB 2.

Admission

I wanted to do Mechanical engineering.I have applied to top NIT's like Trichy ,warangal, rourkel and VNIT. I finally got vnit mechanical in the 3rd round of JOSAA councilling. I haven't got into the top colleges since I didn't managed to get a good rank to get into mechanical. I was getting lower braches like metallurgy and civil in which I'm not interested. The admission in our college is through JOSAA counciling.

Faculty

2

The faculty to student ration is about 1 : 5. Teachers will give good support to research. We can approach only few professors of we face any problem, some of them won't care about students. The main professors are good and approachable but the lab assistants are bad and they are strict. Exams are of medium level. Most of the students will clear the test.Only 3 or 4 fails in the exams.

Night Life

4

Gym is well equipped and also gym trainer also there to clear doubts and help you out. The library is of 2 floors, you can get any book you want, whether it is related to self help or academic. For boys there are two canteens presents.one is sonu bhaiyya canteen and the other is Chandrama canteen. Boys not have any rules, they can roam around the campus but going to professors quaters in restricted.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
