Course Curriculum Overview

5

The reason for choosing this course is that it is manageable with a professional exam and focuses on various aspects. It includes subjects like Indian Knowledge System, EVS which increases the comprehension of students. We even learn to apply accounting formulas in excel preparing us for the real world i.e complying our ways with the technology. The exams are not very frequent and are aligned with the dates of professional courses. The difficuly level is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

5

Being the representative of Instituition's Innovation Club , the thing which i am the most sure is to get an internship. More than 35 companies participate in the internship drive and students get roles such as editor , business developer ,etc.

Placement Experience

5

The students become eligible for campus placements in their 3rd or final year. Top companies visiting Jai Hind college include- Zomato, Spotify, Deloitte, KPMG, TCS, Wipro, Infoysys, etc. Median package is 2.5lpa and higher packages go upto 3-4 lpa. The percentage of students getting placements is more than 50%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees of Bachelors of Commerce is Rs.12340/- only. They have launched a new course which is Bachelors in International Accounting with yearly fees of Rs.182000/-. Jai hind students can avaol the benefit of SUMITOMO scholarship which provides students upto Rs.20000/- (aided as well as unaided).

Campus Life

4

Arthanomics which is an economics fest is held in the month of July and August. Elevation is an accountancy fest which is held in november. The library has vast range of books and journals and students are allowed to access them with the help of their library card. The classrooms have ACs and good quality of benches along with a projector. The college also has a gymkhana and we can find students playing pickleball every morning. We also have wellness club which helps students a lot in their personal life.

Admission

I applied to colleges like Thakur, HR and Viva. Because of my marks i got my name in the first merit list of all the colleges. I chose Jai hind above all because it has a goodwill and as we already know it is the Pride of Maharashtra. It has an ideal location i.e it is very close to the station and also Marine Lines is just few minutes away. The admission process is quite simple; your name appears in the merit list and then you go to the college with all your documents. You pay the fees through the link sent on your email and boom seat secured. For the first merit list cut off ranges from 90-99 percent and then it follows.

Faculty

5

The faculty members are indeed without a dount a 10/10. They are really approachable and help students very much. The teaching sessions are very fun and interactive. The continuos assessment exams are of 25 marks and semester being of 50 marks. The tests are of moderate level and students pass easily. The students failing are allowed to keep term and appear in the next year.

Night Life

3

Mumbai ki shaan Marine lines is hardly 5 mins away from the college where people can hangout . The college canteen is the best place to chill after the lecture hours. The locality is the safest place to roam around at night with cafes running 24/7.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
