Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for electronics and communication course because in this course we learn both technical and core knowledge and also because of my interest in electronics i chose this. Till now I learned a lot of things from practical like we had electronics workshop where I got to know about circuits connection a lot of new devices and how to use them, as I said this course includes both core and technical knowledge so I learnt about python and r programming from practicals . I think smart boards should be there in classes because in class we have to focus on lecture and write notes also which is not possible everytime because sometimes faculties are in rush and we can't note so with the help of smart board they can save the notes and can share us or we can take photos of it after the lecture which helps us to concentrate in lecture. there are 2 theory exams in each semester and 1 practical exam , in odd semester usually semester starts from mid of August and then mid semester exams are conducted in September after mid semester exams are over we have our practical exams after around 2 weeks of our mid sem exams and practical exams are conducted for 1 weeks and after that we get 2-3 weeks for end semester exams and in odd semester end sem exams are conducted in December. Level of exam is moderate but you have to attend all classes so that you don't panic during last moment of exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

Right now I have no internship experience but talking about seniors experience they told companies visit in 2nd year to hire interns and they offer 20k to 1 lakh per month stipend it depends on your skill . There is an internship training conducted after your 1st year is over and you have to enroll youself in that course because they will guide you how to work and how to crack interviews and also teach you programing languages and at the end you will get a certificate which will help you while applying for internship.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placement is available from 3rd year like if you did internship in 2nd year and company wants to hire you they can give you placement in 3rd year also . From 2nd year onwards companies visit our college for skilled students who are perfect for their job there is cgpa criteria also from companies like some of them allow only those students who scored 8+ cgpa to sit in the interview. Almost 70-80% students get placements and some of them get off campus placement also. Apple company also visited to your college and heired students in their company. Some other companies like microsoft, amazon, flipkart etc also visit to hire interns or to give placement. My plan after btech is either get a placement in good company or will prepare for govt exams .

Fees and Financial Aid

For first year fees is 1.45 lakhs which includes security and alumini deposit and every year fees increases overall the total fees for 4yr btech program is 6 lakhs. This fees is fixed for all categories. Students can apply for scholarships and avail it by cracking interviews, usually there is some criteria to apply for scholarships such as income criteria, and some other reserved category students can also avail the benifit of scholarship. Amazon , reliance etc companies provide scholarships which have some conditions.

Campus Life

3

There are some events held in our college which are amazing like taarangana which is held around end of February in which this year mohit chauhan sir was invited and taarangana event is for 2 days one day some artist is invited and another day is like a dj night , jhilmil fest is conducted during Diwali time which is also a cultural fest , ignite and innerve are technical fests which are also good. In our college 2 libraries are there e library and library, in Library all books are divided according to the courses which helps students to find their book easily and to check the availability of book you can check it on the pc which is there in Library that will show you how many copies are left of that book which will save your time , also infrastructure of Library is really good fully air-conditioned, and enough facilities to sit and study. In some classes AC's are not installed because of that during summers it's really hard to attend lectures specially on top floor in some classes AC is not installed and because of which it's hard to concentrate on studies also stairs of college needs improvement. There are 3 grounds present in college basketball ground , badminton court and a ground where you can play football, vollyball etc and this ground is located in the middle of college and it's really big . There are many societies formed in our college like soch which is an art society, zena which is fashion society etc according to your interest you can enroll youself in societies and that will build your confidence because of participation and also brush up your skills even if you want to learn that skill you can join societies as they will teach you and help you .

Admission

I applied for jac delhi counselling in which igdtuw was my 3rd choice and I got this college because of my rank and other colleges which I opted was DTU and nsut where I didn't got seat . To take admission in igdtuw you have to apply for jac delhi counselling and this counselling contains only those colleges which are in delhi and if you did you 12th from Delhi you are eligible for home state quota in jac counselling which will help you get seat on below ranks also and this counselling considers only jee mains score not jee advance . 5 rounds are conducted in this and after this if some seats are left then a spot round is also conducted. Cutoff rank for obc ncl for ece course was around 3.2 lakh , you can check OR-CR on jac counselling website where you will find cutoff ranks for every round which will help you in choice filling.

Faculty

4

Faculties are really good they help us in studies for doubts they take doubt in their lectures and clears concepts . One of our maths faculty is really nice as she covers the syllabus on time by solving all our doubts and clearing concepts , she is really dedicated and even helped us when our exams were coming she took doubt classes even taught some topics again to make sure we understand everything. In first year I got all good faculties who are very nice to us . In one year our college takes 4 theory exams, 2 in each semester. Like in 1st semester we had mid sem and end sem exams where mid sem is for 30 marks which is halfed and end sem is for 60 marks and as mid sem marks are halfed so there is practical exams for only those subjects whose mid sem marks are halfed which is ofc 25 marks. Minimum marks needed to paas the semester is 45 . Difficulty of exam is modarate like if you are attending classes regularly then it's not hard to pass the semester there is enough gap between exams for preparation.

Interview Experience

3

There is no group discussion or interview process after counselling. After you got seat into the college you can directly join the college after document verification process. To take admission into igdtuw you have to appear in jac delhi counselling where 5 rounds are held and after that a spot round is also conducted if any seats are left in the colleges .

Night Life

3

As I am not a hosteller so no idea about nightlife of college but there are 2 hostels in our college krishna hostel and kaveri hostel , there is a gym area also in college but some machines don't work there . In college there is no hangout place as campus is really small .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
