Course Curriculum Overview

4

One of the main factor that influenced me to choose the course was the blend of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. The curriculum is well structured for practical applications like data analysis, research and finance. Teaching methods need some work.

Internships Opportunities

4

Christ university offers various internships programs for both first and second years through its various industry connects. My course usually involves data analysis, research and finance in top companies as mentioned before.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible from the 5th semester. The university also conducts placement drives and skill development workshops. Out of the various companies, some of the reputed ones include Goldman Sachs, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, De Shaw, etc. The average package is around 7 to 8 lakhs but 60% students opt out from placements for further education. I plan to study a master's degree in business economics after my undergraduate studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees is 1.2lakhs per year and there is a one time registration and admission fee of 3000. Fees may increase slightly every year due to inflation. Students from other states pay around 1.6 lakhs and NRI's pay about 3 lakhs. There is a scholarship of 20,000 for Karnataka students.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is very good, fest held in the odd and even semesters respectively. Since there are no requirement for textbooks, the library is a vast resource for the study material and there is also an online portal of the library where you can access the books online along with various research material from JSTOR and other databases. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards, projectors and WiFi.

Admission

I chose Christ university over st josephs and Jain. I recieved confirmed admission from all the 3 places but I chose christ because of its placement records, infrastructure and its campus life. Christ University admission process is competitive. It includes an exam, interview, micro presentation, and an essay writing along with a detailed checking of your profile and previous marks. The cut off is usually 85 to 90% of your grade 12 score.

Faculty

3

It is a well-structured curriculum with great balance on theory and practical applications. 50% of your grade is based on assignments, projects, presentations, attendance, etc and rest is from exams. The course is divided into 6 semesters with 2 CIA's (Continuous internal assessments) and 2 Exams. Faculty is approachable at all times and there are doubt sessions conducted on a regular basis. Ms. Mithali from statistics and Dr. Mahesh from economics are very good teachers. Exams are moderately challenging but the course curriculum is hectic and definitely needs a lot of effort to study.

Night Life

5

Campus timings is from 5am to 8pm. Famous hang out spots include mingos, wiki wiki, freshiteria, etc, The locality is safe to roam around at night as it is bustling till midnight with students.
