Remarks

Everything is fine, until students are at peace with the college schedule. Teachers should support the students much more than they still do. The bad thing about the college is the system of bookish slavery where we are kind of prisoned in the building for about 8 hours. The good thing is the campus and seniors and yes, the canteen food. The bad things is the hectic schedule if the college. The college is not under DUSU ( Delhi university students Union). I'd like it to be under it so that students also get more rights than the teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The courses are well, although they lack some practical skills and the ground work is very less. The focus is more on the theory rather than practical. There are optional subjects that add slice to the monotonous schedule. The exam pattern changed this year with the introduction of more application based questions and it will be followed in the future as well. Main course exams are conducted early in the morning , usually at 9:00 am while the generic and extra subject like English etc etc are conducted in the afternoon, usually at 3:00 pm. Water is served during the exams and checking is done thoroughly with the strict discipline in the exam hall by the teachers. The datesheet is displayed on the net along with many previous year question papers. College libraries also provide question papers to photocopy.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement cell is much more better for students in the North campus. The students with an overall good percentages are given opportunities for further MSc's or jobs when companies like Infosys, whirlpool, Cisco, vipro, etc come. The placements are best forfor electronics and computer science department with a handsome package. Internships are provided here in the college. We had some girls here from a college of South for the internship with the facility of staying and food. My friend went to IIT Mandi this year itself for internship and was awarded 3 thousand for her efforts with the accomodation and food facility.

College Events

3

Events are really great with fests of different subjects to the annual fest welcoming different stars like Ali merchant, niazi mazeem brothers and the comedian , Sejal Bhat. Many food stalls are prepared along with fun rides welcoming all the students from different colleges as well. Fun games, events, delicious food, great rides.all make the event very happening. Freshers and farewell holds very sweet memory. From the tears of happiness of coming to a new place to the tears of moments when our beloved seniors are getting their farewell, we all made a very strong bond. Different games, music, dances, everything are organised very well by the societies. The holi Mela is a really auspicious event here where all the divas show off their beauties in the traditional clothes with different traditions. Food stalls, dun games, quizes, dances, songs, music and a late night Dane really capture everyone.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it's under central government, the fee is feasible. Till last year it was approximately 11k which is now increases to approximately 16k. The hostel fee was 80k from which 10k is returned as a security fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many and are always there online on the Delhi universities official sites. Scholarships are offered SC/ST/OBC classes and some for general category too. New scholarships are always available. I don't have much knowledge about loans but the government of India provides education loans.

Campus Life

4.5

Land are well maintained and lab assistants are really helpful and knowledgeable. The labs are conducted in groups and are of 4 hours and one lab is conducted once in a week. We have societies like dancing, singing, calligraphy, painting, enactus, nss, globe trotters, drama, nukkad nataka, debate, entrepreneurial, writings, student council, youth parliament etc etc. These are headed by really amazing people and supported by teachers as well, although not all. Interviews are held capabilities are tested before recruiting members for each society.

Alumni/Alumna

Yup, helpful in their ways, seniors are the best but we don't have much contact with the alumni. They visit the college rarely. But the full support is there from the seniors. From handling us to teaching us new things, from treating us well to helping each other in different fests, we all have made a string bond with each other. They tell us about the notes and books to study from. They arrange many events and nightouts for us. Seniors are well maintained and really hard working. They usually came on the first day when we came. There is no bullying in the campus. We are treated very well and respect each other well.

Admission

It started with the cutoff, the physics Hons demanded the combined percentage of pcm. I got the admission in the second cutoff. You are given retain forms to fill and a college and hostel catalogue as well if you apply to hostels. Then there is a process where you have to submit the documents. Before taking the documents, they will verify whether you are eligible to take admission by calculating your percentages and checking the online results. After the submission of documents like 10th and 12th marksheets, migration certificate, Aadhar card photocopy, character certificate and school leaving certificate as well, you have to submit hem with the authorities. Usually teachers are sitting for the filing of details and collecting the documents.

Faculty

3

A tight schedules time table. From 9 on the morning till 5:30 pm in the evening, this doesn't leave us with any time for ourselves except studying. First year wasn't this hectic but second is. Faculty is a mixture of very good and some just go with the flow teachers. Some are involved with research programs and lab assistants are very helpful in everything. Teaches do motivate us to strive ahead, but the basics focus is only in the studies. They wouldn't say anything much if you are involved in extra curricular activities until your result degrades and won't either demotivate you nor would they support you in extra curricular activities. They are helpful in certain aspects like giving ideas about things but least involved in the ground work for the same.

Placement Experience:

Gargi, like most other delhi colleges, has a standard placement cell. Students become eligible for placements from the 5th semester onwards, but most requirements happen during the final year. The companies that visit are primarily ed tech based ventures or marketing, HR firms and sales firms. A few that have collaborated over the year has been EY, Decathlon, Urban Company, Deloitte and so on. in terms of packages, the highest that had been around 15-17lpa, and the average package is 4-5lpa. About 20-30% of the batch gets placed during placement interviews while many try to pursue other opportunities or off-campus venues.

as the everyone know for computer science b tech is the best course but there is to much rush for b tech and i dont want to waste my college life or campus life on engenerring degree which dont give me placements thats why i choose for bsc hons cs in du to enjoy the campus life. if you study well in this course it will definately help vo in job interview making your resume good and skills better. the teaching method should be more practical than doing on notebooks or oraly. the datesheet and timings of exams are preety good and the difficulty of exam are moderate the ones who prepares will definately score good marks and can maintain better cgpa.

Placement Experience:

One can easily view the placement statistics of our college on their website. The placement cell of the college manages the placement process. On first glance, it appears impressive. But most of the placements are in similar fields of commerce like consulting or finance, followed by Arts and Science courses getting the least amount of placements. I personally have no faith in my course getting me any placement. So I'm preparing for government exams anyways.
