Must Read before coming to IIT ISM Dhanbad

I think frequency and timming of exams is perfect. The difficulty level is also perfect. We have our new curriculum according to NEP so I guess it is good for us, but considering our seniors it is not that good. Over it some professors from the ECE department do ABSOLUTE GRADING, which affects students' CG a lot and these proffesors do not care.

You can start your Internship in 3rd year. Some of the companies that i know are Google, TCS, Reliance, GoLang, GoFlow, Quidich. you can also go overseas for research internship like you can go to Australia or Norway as per my current knowledge. I am not sure about stipen but my seniors easily earn 10-20k per month on an average and one my seniors earns 60k per month.

From 4th semseter students are allowed to sit in Campus placements and From 3rd semseter students are allowed to sit in Intership placemetns. Our Average package is around 21LPA and IIT ISM is a bit unique as here you will find very good packages in Circutal branch( its obvious) + you find very good packages in other branches as well like Minearl and Metallurgical, Petroleum etc.

my college have fees structure for tution fee as 1,00,000 ruppees for GEN/EWS/OBC and for SC/ST tution fees is 0 ruppees. Hostel fee include Wi-Fi, mes, health insurance, water charges, registration fees, etc. Different types of scoalrhips like NSP for SC/ST are available. Many other schooarships are also availabel for all categories.

We got 3 Main Fests, Concetto, Tech Fest, Srijan -> Cultural Fest, Parakram -> Sports Fest. Along with it we have some minor fests as well like Khanan by Mining branch, Spectrum by Electronincs branch, Basant for Alumnis. We get good amount of funding by IIT ISM and Aluminis. IIT ISM's central library is among top tier digital library in the world. We have mostly all modern technolgies implemented in our classrooms like Smart board, projectors etc and recently ACs are being added.

It is compulsory in my college, that you stay in hostel but under certain conditons you are allowed to live outside in PG. The registration process is very easy and smooth, you just go tell your name show ur ID and they provide you with your room key. Free food for all parents. I have stayed in Amber, it is not that spacious but enough so that you can fit 2 beds and stand in the middle, a bit congested. You get one cupboard, one window and one attached table. Toilets and bathroom are cleaned regulary and have been rebuilt and repainted recently.

I had secured AIR 5860 in JEE Advanced, so i had applied for all CSE, ECE, ELECTRICAL, MNC and related branches in Top IITs. For my rank, I got IIT ISM Dhanbad in the last round. I had also got IIT Kharagpur Manufacturing Science, but I choosed to go for furture rounds as i thought doing a circuit branch in IITs is better. I could not make it to colleges that i wanted to as my rank was 5860 and belonging to the GENERAL category, the rank is too high to get into top branches of the top 7 IITS. The admission process is JEE Advanced, Elgibility is that u need to have good rank in JEE Advanced, the rank required varies from branch to branch but i can give you and idea, for our IIT ISM, CSE -> 2000 to 3500, MNC -> 3500 to 4500 , ECE -> 4500 to 6000 and so on.

Every sem there are 2 exams(MidSem, EndSem), along with it we have 2 quizzes which will be conducted before these 2 earlier mentioned exams respectively. Midsem is for 30, each quiz is 10 and endsem is for 50. Exams are moderate to tough. The Professor-to-student ratio is very good, we have more than enough professors. each one of them is highly qualified. If i had to name one it would Proffesor Hemanth Mishra who is from Cornell University in US, he taught us MATH very well, I mean i am astonished by his way of teaching. we have many such faculties.

We have 3 Gyms in SAC(for Males, Females & Sports people), many cafeterias like barrista, RD, Amber Amul etc where people hangout and recently one more big complex is under construction... The campus is open 24x7 but the Main gate closing time is 10pm and opening time is 4am. We got many Hostels some of which are old and some are modern as our college had started in 1926. Aquamarine, Rosaline are 2 modern hostels with 13 floors
