I choose IIT Dhanbad electrical over civil and mechanical of various IITs like iit kanpur, iit roorkee, iit kharagpur because the scene of lower branches in even top IITs are very bad at this moment. At the end everybody wants a good placement so I'll recommend students to choose branch over college.

Electrical engineering is kind of hectic course but overall placements and everything is a lot good in this branch. You can also opt for IES through this branch and also core and non core jobs. But the thing is you'll have to study a lot in this branch in comparison with other branches.

Internship opportunities is very good here. This year average internship package was of 1.4lakh for prefinal students. You'll get a lot of opportunities here because of it's location. A lot of companies are located beside the campus and also every companies offer internship in IIT atleast.

The placement of IIT dhanbad is very good and it offers a average package of 24lpa with highest package of 66lpa this year. Also every year more than 70% students get placed in our college. Specially the core companies shows a lot of interest in our college like coal india, sail, gail, petroleum industries companies, mining companies , etc Average package of cse here is 28lpa with 90% placement rate. Average of electrical is 23lpa with placement rate of 80%. Similarly, every branch average package lies between 18lpa to 24lpa.

I am a student of SC category so my tution fee is zero and i have to pay only the hostel and miscellaneous charges which is approximately 90k per year. Also there are a lot of scholarship available here, both government and private. They will give scholarship upto 80000 per year.

The campus life of IIT is ofcourse the best campus life in comparison with other private colleges or Nit's or IIIT's . Here many fests takes place like Concetto ( tech fest) , Srijan(cultural fest) , Khanan(mining fest) , similarly every branch organize thei specific fest too. Also inter iit will take place in IIT dhanbad in 2026. Also another campus of Nirsa campus will be inaugurated in 2026 of 250 acres. And everything here is being renovated and many new buildings are being formed.

In 1st year you'll get here amber hostel which is fine or okay okay type with two people in each room. After that in 2nd and 3rd you'll be give aquamarine hostel which is kind of hotel room hostel very gorgeous and spacious rooms. In 4th year you'll be allotted Jasper hostel with single rooms. Food here in every hostel is very good and above average. Someday if u don't wanaa eat then every hostel have 2-3 canteen in the Hostel itself or either you can go to Barista and mezban there to eat in the campus.

All the professors here are very chill and very good in everything. They are a lot cooperative with everyone. they are highly skilled in thei field, most of the professors are from foreign best colleges and i love all the professors of my collage.
