Course Curriculum Overview

3

the course of Engineering drawing is totally irrelevant we now have CAD softwares wgt are they still teaching us to draw on sheet they should have taught us to use CAD in an advanced manner. the chemistry syllabus is totally therotical you just have to mug up the things there is nothing you can get of it. The improvement they can do is it have more advanced curriculum and to focus more on modern tech. the labs here are old they are teaching us in labs what they are teaching from last 50 years

Internships Opportunities

1

some of the companies that come here for placements are these and they provide stipend on basis of the skills the person is having that varies from 10000-100000 jp morgan goldman sachs jsw steel microsoft google airbus MICRON samsung intel

Placement Experience

5

the placement is good enough the people from cse and ece are doing good many students from this college get pre placement offers which is very good and the plans after my degree is to crack into finace as I am not into my core branch

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is incresing right now its 91 thousand for general category and ews student. but the students with income below poverty line are given concession. they also have scholarships for ST/SC students

Campus Life

5

the overal experience is very good the college is small 200 acres but its lush green and gives a very good vibe. here festivals are celebrated very enthusiastically recently maha shivratri was very good of a program. the library is very huge with many books I love that. the technology in classrooms is average. the sports facalities are very good no doubt in that. the clubs are really acyive every now and then there is an event going on

Hostel Facilities

3

meal quality is very poor the menu is good but the quality is bad the pg are available nearby in mohali and sector 11 but they are somewhat expensive then hostel. here we are provided 4 meals daily and the mess charges are 3000-3500 which are okay but the hostel rooms are very bad

Admission

I choose this college because of its city advantage this college is beating NIT jalandar and many NIT nearby. the alumini network here is pretty strong due to which this college gives you an edge. its a pretty old college with good reputation from last 100+ years

Faculty

4

The faculty to students ratio is very good here. the faculty is also very responsive and clears all the doubts even one of our strenght of materials teacher Dr harshit khandelwal even gives us extra time he told us we can come to his office anytime without hesitation he is very dedicated I respect him very much. some teachers here are very dedicated meanwhile others just read ppt. there are mainly 2 exams one mid sem and one end sem and also there are multiple quizes time to time. The exams are moderately difficult but the course relevence is not that much I dont know why they are still teaching those old courses

Interview Experience

5

no I didnt face any GD or interview round to get into this college. the process was simple I gave JEE and the n seated in councelling of JOSAA and CSAB I got this college in CSAB last round in which which they gave me metallurgy and materials branch

Night Life

5

the gym is well equipped and the public area are moderately crowded with students. the staff stays within the campus. the hostel facilities are poor but the new hostels are very good but not yet ready the fav hangout spot is the pec market where you'll find everything of your need even the nescafe here is very good
