- Societies- The college has to 60+ college societies including departmental and extracurricular activities ECA societies offering a chance to hone your skills and showcase your talents. Every society offers a unique opportunity to hone your skills.
- Faculry- hansraj has a highly educated faculty who are there for guidance.
- Library - you'll get all books in the library you won't have to buy them.
Dislikes
- Hectic timetable- in some courses the timetable is from 8:40- 5:00pm
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed to include all aspects of botany so that students can choose the subjects for further specialization. The curriculum also includes 3 practical classes per week and field trips. The exams are 3 hr long and moderately difficult. If you have paid attention in the class you can crack it
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees I paid was 28k. There.are scholarships for meritorious students in every semester in hansraj college and of central delhi university also. There are additional scholarships for SC, ST students.
Campus Life
For botany department their fest is floristics and college also has its Confluence. They are held around feb- march. Yes library contains all kinds of books including course books. The facilities are constantly improving but they have 5 labs. Every department has its own society that is a student -led endeavour and there are 60+societies otherwise including karakriti- fine arts society, Haritima - The Environmental Society Hansraj College, NCC, NSS, oorja, Vision: The Media and Publication Society.
Admission
I applied to all colleges with botany hons. I chose hansraj because of faculty. My first choice was Hrc and I got it. We applied online and based on the merit we were offered admission, after which we had to submit our documents for verification. Earlier it was DUET but now they have switched to CUET exam
Faculty
There are 16 teachers and 60 students in botany department. They are very approachable and are available for guidance. The course is taught with so much enthusiasm. There is an exam per semester and a viva for each subject. Additionally there is an internal assessment test and an assignment which could be a presentation or an assignment.
Night Life
L.P. is a place to hang out with a lot of eateries around including the college canteen, amul, Nescafe, mitticafe, naturales, etc. additionally we have a large college ground. Only boys hostel is present in the college. Hudson lane, kamla nagar and patel chest is present around clg to hang out
