Course Curriculum Overview

2

course curriculum is quiet relevant it is designed to give students options and variety of field in each stage of therir college life . it encourages students to explore their interestes in various domains. course provides practical experience so you get to know your choices and field of interest each semester an elective subject if offered from other branch of engineering so that students can explaore their interest. more interactive powerpoints and projects based learning would help according to me .faculty should be more reachable and understanding. tests are conducted frequently in between the mids and the end sems they are based on class learing and understanding and are not that difficult. faculties also conduct quizes for the students and give them marks based on their performance.

Internships Opportunities

1

kiit offers internships across various domains like marketing , sales, product , software etc. still looking for one as the market is down , however these opportunitis can range from summer internships tp long term placements. university's strong industry connections contribute to a diverse range of internship options.

Placement Experience

4

the placements are preety good in this college . however currenty the job market is down so it has impacted the college placements. from 6th semester onwards students become eligible for placements however the companies visit from 7th sem onwards . many renowned companies visit along with multiple startups offering from a range 4 lpa to 24 lpa all based on the potential of the students. the college offers a 100% placement but looking at current senario it seems difficult. mostly companies hire for sowftware engineers and product manager roles but , also provide marketing and sales job roles. 25 lakhs per annum is the highest package in the recent time average package is abput 5-10 lakhs per annum. though college promises 100% placements, the actual percentage is quite low about 50-60% students are getting placed which is also a result of the current job market scenario my plans after this degree is joining a company and finding my passion . i can also tink about my own startup based on my passion to make a change in the society .

Fees and Financial Aid

college fees is 500000 per year fees per semester is 245000 which includes mess fees 25000 hostel fees 50000 aut tutuion fees algon with some other charges thers is 1000 rs registration fees each semester college offers some scholarships also based on the enterance exam conducted by them KIITEE scholarships are continued based on the performance and attendance of the students.

Campus Life

4

in KIIT you will meet people from all over india and even some international student from various countries, this makes a vibrant social scene , but it can also be a bit overwhelming at first. many cultural and technical festivals are organized in kiit . such as Kritarth (annual cultural festival) usually held in the month of February , konfluence (technical festival) typically held in october month. there is also a KIITFEST held in February that includes technical and cultural programs being organized and star nights are also held full of enery and passion , students enjoy their best college life in these concerts. the club scene is super active. you will find clubs for everything, robotics, coding , dance , NSS, music, drama, photography, literature etc.joining a club is the best way to make friends and pursue your passion the campus is pretty lively . there are always events happening from open mics and movie screenings to sports tournaments and departmental fests. the canteens are always buzzing. all classrooms are modern with smart screens and projectors, cctv cameras and centralized air conditioners. wifi network is available campus wide but its quality flutuates. here we have central and departmental library's available 24/7 for the students to study. they have huge collection of books both digital and physical.

Hostel Facilities

5

the hostel facility is decent but the warden's behaviour towards the students is very unpleasant. you can choose if you want to live in normal 3 bedded rooms AC/ NON AC or you can opt for premium rooms in premium rooms you get an attach bathroom and ther also you have 2 options either you can share a rom or live alone in whole room . ther eis no major diffrence between the quality of food in premium or non premium however premium hostels have better quality and taste. students who don't want hostel facilities can live in rented PG's nearby there are pleanty of them around them , however the hostel life is once in a lifetime opportunity and one should not miss that. students get a bucket , mug ,pillow, mattress, blanket and pair of bedsheet with their room each student gets a cupboard to keep their belonngings safely. hostels typically have 3 wardens that stay at night along with a female gaurd. each floor has a floor warden and has the information about the whole floor. there 1 water filter and 2 inductions onr in each block for the students to cook. the hostel registration is typically done along with the university registration . after admission students are given campus tours so that they can be familiar with the campus routes.

Admission

I have not applied for any other college as my sister and nephe werealready studing in the same course the admission process is quiet simple first you need to give a dedicated enterance exam for KIIT known as KIITEE. there are 3-5 phases of this exam you can attempt 3 times in and the best score is considered to give you the branch according to you marks scored and cuttoff. you can easily register for the exam through theri official website . the exam is quiet easy. mostly students prefer computer science , while there are many sub branches of computer science that are very popular now a days and students tend to be interested in them . the university releases new courses time to time to attract more and more studens.

Faculty

2

1 teacher for 80 students in each subject apart from that every 100 students have a common mentor to solve their problems and grant leaves. majorly the faculty - student relations are good and they are preety approachable. each semester has 6 subjects and 1 or 2 labs for practical. for each subject, mid sem is conducted of 20 marks 30 marks internal evaluated by the subject faculty thrugh attendance , assignments, tests , quizes etc. rest 50 marks end sem exam is conducted. in each semester there is 1 or 2 subject that have less relevance to the course i have not come across all the faculties since every semester we get to select a section with fixed faculties most of them i have encountered are average or below average . they seem nice till mid semester but dont give marks in the end semester.

Night Life

5

honestly being a Felame student there is no night life for us IN time is very strict and if you need ti collect a parcel then you need to submit you ID card to the warden and go till thi food court gate that is in the same campus inside the same boundary . that too till 8:30 PM if you need to go the library you have to leave on 7:00 sharp and then a bus will take you back to hostel arounf 9:30 PM so there is no night life for girls but boys are allowed to move freely till any time they want . the college is surrounded by many hangout spots where you can cill with your friends kiit road is flooded with food stalls. and you can also explore bhubaneshwar as all kind of transport is available from the campus, these experiences provide a much needed break from the academic pressures. foster social connections and creat long lastnig memories.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
