Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is fairly comprhensive covering core subjects in the first two years and advanced electives like AI,cloud and Data analytics later, which influenced my decision to join. It balances theory with labs and projects, preparing students for real-world applications and higher studies. Exams are held twice a semester plus finals with moderate difficulty. Improvement is needed in making some courses ore practical and updating a few outdated topics.

Campus Life

4

Overall Campus life experience My overall experience with campus life has been a blend of academics extracurriculars and social engagement making it both enriching and memorable. The college provides not just an academic environment but also ample opportunities for students to grow holistically through clubs, fests, and diverse activities. Sports clubs and social groups There are numerous student-run clubs catering to technical, cultural, and social interests. For instance, KIIT robotics society, code club and Hackslash.

Admission

I chose my college because it offered me the right combination of academic quality strong placement support modern infrastructure and a vibrant campus life which outweighed the options i had at other private universities. Although i couldn't secure admission in NIT's or top tier institutes due to my jee performance KIIT gave me a strong platform to pursue my career aspirations.

Faculty

4

The afculty-to-student ratio is around 1:20, and most professors are approachable and helpful. Some faculty stand-out of for their practical lteaching and mentorship, while a few rely more on theory, the course structure balances core fundamentals with electives, labs and projects. Exams include mid-sems,end-sems and assignments with a fair making scheme. The difficulty level is moderate and very few students fail if they prepare sincerely.

Night Life

4

Nightlife in and around my college is a balanced mix of relaxation, social interaction and safety. WHile academics and classes dominate the day, evenings and nights are when students recharge unwind and create some of their most memorable college experiences. Campus Facilities and closing timings The college maintains discipline but also ensures students have enough opportunities to enjoy campus life. The library usually closes by 9pm. But the digital library and e-resources are available 24/7. The Gym and sports complexes are open until about 8 PM giving students plenty of time to play football, basketball, or work out after classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
