Likes
- I really liked the greenery in my college.It has a lot of trees which will be pollution free with fresh air.
- The availability of shops and stores are just outside the campus,which make us easy to get the things we want.
- It is near to Kolkata, and it is easy to catch the flight also abot 1 km to railway station.
Dislikes
- As I am from South India it is somewhat tough to adjust to food,but its good to adjust.
- Campus is very clean but outside the campus the roads not maintained.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am still first year and we have not yet seperated departmental wise, from next year onwards I will be starting my Electronics and Telecommunication course.I opted Electronics becausse I am intrested in physics also to have secured future as it is evergreen branch.
Internships Opportunities
Many big companies offer internship opportunities for students in our college like Tata Power ,Infosys, Jio, Texas etc. Many roles are offerd to the students according to their skills. As I am still first year student I don't have a lot of knowledge about these.
Placement Experience
The placements are quite good in our college,but for that student have to work hard alot . Many companies visit our campus from various places.My plan after getting degree is to write GATE and to join in DRDO to serve the nation.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have the 100 percent tuition fee waiver as I am fron SC category , So my tuition fee is 0,as for other fee like examination fee maintenance fee ,total academic fee is 5500 per semester means 11000 per year.
Campus Life
Campus life is really great,our college has done may fests like INSTRO,Impetus also alot,those are done in a very well mannered and very intresting.Our college also have a lot of involvement in extracorricular activitie like sports, it also has held annual atheletic meet,also have clubs for dance like Reflexobeta etc
Hostel Facilities
Facilities are quite good, with free wifi , very good room with good roommates and cots.The maintenance of hostel is also good.As for food, as I am from Andhra Pradesh, it is somewhat difficult to adjust to the Bengal food but Non veg is very nice.
Admission
I applied to other private colleges like LPU,Amritha, VIT also got seat in CSE but I didn't opt them because of the fee. In IIEST,I have fee waiver and the total expences for my course including other expenced it will be about maximum 1,00,000 including flight tickets everything,but in those colleges fee is comparitively alot.
Faculty
The faculty in IIEST Shibpur are very well qualified, almost everyone are doctorate holders.They are very good to students and also very kind and understanding. Ofcourse exams are somewhat tough but it is to maintain the level of students.
Night Life
Our college has gym,a very big ground,4 to 5 cafeterias,also a big library complex with a lot of books.As for hostel timings it depends from one hostel to another , as for my hostel it is 8 pm and it will be extendended ipto 12o clock if any event is going on.
