Internships Opportunities

The college does provide internships at the end of every year. These organisations and institutions work at the center level or state level and therefore there is a lot to earn. Most of the internships are not paid. The stipend for some ranges from 5-7 thousand.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements and job opportunities are good from what I have heard. But since we are doing a course like HEP that really doenst qualify us to work with just a UG degree, we are often placed in institutions that is not related to what we have studied previously.

College Events

5

We have blossoms, inbloom that are inter and intra University cultural fests. We have the magnificat which is the fest that takes place around the time of Christmas. We have the Chrispo which is a university sports tournament and list of other department fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible for my course. The fee is 21 thousand for students who have previously studied in India. It is around 50 thousand for NRI students. While other courses' fee varies between 50 thousand to 1 lakh.

Campus Life

4.5

There are 2 libraries, the UG library and the central library. The central library has around 6 floors with great collection of books. There is a college cricket, football, throwball, basketball and volleyball team with a gym. The extracurricular activities include - Dance(theme, non theme, classical), Choir, Theatre, Street Play, NCC, CSA(Centre for social action), SWO(student welfare office)

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel infrastructure and facilities are nice. There are several hostels and PGs around college within a radius of 1-2Km or even less. The prices are pretty feasible too. The average Pg rent would be around 10K.

Exam Structure

We have 3 CIAs(Continuous internal Assessments) and one End Semester examination in one Semester. The first and the third CIAs are for 20 marks that ranges from tests to assignments. The 3rd CIA is the mid semester examination for 50 marks. The end sem examination is for 100 marks. There is 10 marks allocated for attendance too. At the end all the marks are halved and then finally calculated out of 100.

Admission

I had to pay for the application form for the course I wanted to apply for and then submit it after filling in all the details and also choose the date online for your PI. On the chosen date, I was grouped with other applicants and was told to write an essay on a topic that was given on spot and after that I was interviewed by 2 faculty members. I was asked some basic questions about myself and the course I opted for.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
