Remarks

There's a lot to improve. The reputation won't help them for long. High time they focus on faculty and academics.

Entrance Preview

Wanted to select the commerce stream after my 10th Grade. And HR was the best option. You get selected on the basis of your 10th Grade score. I scored a comfortable 92. 2 and secured my seat in the first list.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Honestly, apart from a teacher or two the entire faculty was uninteresting and boring. They teached cause they got paid for it. No zeal, zest. The course was so-so.

Internships Opportunities

Unfortunately, due to no attendance issues I hardly attended college and so I missed the opportunity to intern if there were any in the first place.

College Events

4

Due to no campus and infrastructure of the college we can only dream of hosting festivals. But the biggest event we organised was We Are The World which attracts more the 25-30 schools for a 3 day inter-school event.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are summer school programs offered by Kings College London. You can get scholarships for that.

Campus Life

2

There's a good mix of both genders from all around the country. Extracurricular activities are there, but not compulsory, so turnup is really low.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No college hostel. You may get flats to rent nearby but they will be expensive. Canteen food is good enough.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni is the very reason this college is known for! It's spectacular. The list goes on and on. Some famous ones being Kunar Mangalam Birla, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor and Kishore Biyani.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

De Shaw, and Bain Capital are among the biggest companies and lighter companies are also many. Visa and all are also there which are rare otherwise. For b.com though 30-40k is what is offered but I feel it's fair enough.

Placement Experience:

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.

Placement Experience:

Impeccable, amazing and unbelievable are the placements here. For B.Com which is as always a crowded college, making sure 60-70% students have placements through campus is a task not less than climbing everest. So definitely all I can say is our college has done so well that it is now the first choice college for commerce not just among Mumbaikars but overall as well.
