Course Curriculum Overview

4

The reason I chose BAF was because they provide Self Learning Evaluation along with normal exams at H.R. It prepares us strongly for real life. The course is well built, I just wish we didn't have to study hindi. The exams happen at the end of each semester so it's pretty convinient for anybody who is pursuing any competetive exams also. I think the course is pretty relevant as we have financial accounts, management, tax, law and research methodology. All of it covers all the aspects.

Internships Opportunities

3

The placement cell brings more than 10 internship opportunity a month for us. Some of the recent companies are BeerBiceps, Deloitte, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, India Alternatives, Wrapbay, Nykaa. Most of these internships cover finance, marketing, social media and audit. the stipend is around 7k to 10k.

Placement Experience

4

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am in SYBAF. I paid 40000 this year. Last year it was 36000. It is gradually increasing every year. BMS students paid 96000 this year and they are gradually increasing by 5000 too. There are multiple scholarships introduced throughout the year.

Campus Life

5

The biggest fests are Talent Parade, Shaan, Mystique, Blaze. We have a newly built library with more than 2000 books. The college was renovated last year and so we have fully air conditioned classrooms with AV. We have a lot of clubs in college around 54. We dont have a huge campus but we have a gym, a canteen, an auditorium and two computer labs with latest systems. For extra-curriculars, H.R. is perfect.

Admission

I applied to Somaiya along with H.R. I did not accept somaiya as they dont have BAF program. I also chose this college mostly because it has more than 50 clubs and so much exposure. The admission in H.R. is simple. You have to fill application on HSNC university website. Fill your details. Wait for merit list and you get admission if you pass the eligibility criteria which is 70% for sindhis and 80% for open category. Only if you want admission in BMS, you have to give an entrance exam of H.R. itself.

Faculty

5

I think H.R. College has the best faculty. They are very approachable and teach with a lot of passion. They share their professional experiences too. My favourites are Darshit sir who teaches us law and Poonam mam who teaches us accounts. The reason for liking them the most is because they teach with so much passion that I enjoy learning from them. Other teachers are equally good but these two are the best. We have two semesters each academic year. They are moderate to difficult but if you have attended most lectures, you pass easily. Rarely someone fails.

Night Life

5

After college, most of us go to marine drive or canteen as marine drive is 5 minutes walk from college. We do not have a hostel. Thesports council spends their time in gym. We also have Raju's which is very famous. It has good food and best frankie. We also have McD near the college. The location of the college is apt.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.
