Admission

I have applied for institute of genetic engineering for the same course BSc genetics but I to admission in Guru Nanak institute of pharmaceutical sciences because they are the only other colleges in West Bengal who provides BSc genetics as their course and I choose this college because this is under GIS group and this is well known in West Bengal. I did not get any rejection from the other colleges I applied. I was admitted to change institute of genetic engineering but they were having some issue internal issues regarding to their properties so they couldn't make our university registration work so I get admission to the Guru Nanak institute of pharmaceutical sciences and technology

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is 1:3 . The faculty student relationship is quite good . Faculties are very helpful to students. They provide mentorship and class coordinators. I like Indrani B Chakraborty Mam and Dr Amrita pal Basak mam. Tamalika Chakraborty mam is the best faculties awarded by the college. There are 4 CA or continuous assignment conducted by the University and semester exam for semesters and in semester exams 35 to 40% students fail.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
