My BMLT Journey at GNIPST

Comprehensive for students aiming to build a career in medical diagnostic field. The curriculam has a strong practical component. The curriculum could include more hospital-based clinical training or industry internships during the third year itself, rather than waiting until the final year. Exams are conducted five times per semester. including 4 internals and 1 final exam.

Internship opportunities for BMLT students at GNIPST are arranged by the College. Common Internship Places NRS medical college & hospital, Kolkata Medical College and Hospital etc. Final year student also undertaken project work , such as antibiotic sensitivity tests or biochemical analysis.

GNIPST offers direct campus placement for BMLT Students. Students become eligible from the 7th Semester. Companies Like Sun Pharma, Aquelife & Tata 1mg visited our campus Highest package is 6.5 LPA and Average package is 4 LPA. The placement percentage is high like 80-90% I plan to purse MMLT or Specilize in molecular Diagnostics to enhace career prosoects.

Total fees of the course approx 350000. In case of latest fees structure you need to contact in the office. There is no category wise fees. Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Scholarship is available and The Amount of the Scholarship is 18000 per year.

Campus Life at GNIPST is Academically focused but moderately engaging socially. The main annual fest is 'IRIS", usually held in March, Featuring cultural events, dance, music, and inter-departmental competitions. The Library is well-stocked with course specific books , medical journals and digital access, especially useful for BMLT students. Classroom are digitally equipped and Wi-Fi enabled. Sports like cricket, badminton,carrom, football and vollyball are available. Extracurricular activities are unlimited and improving day by day more. There Are 9 different clubs including cultural club, debate club etc.

The Hostel facilty at GNIPST is decent and located near the main academic block.Rooms are available in double sharing with beds, study tables, fans, wardrobes and 24/7 water supply. The meal quality is also good with a fixed veg/non veg menu including rice, dal, vegetables, eggs and chicken twice a week. Hostel regestration is done during admission. the hostel is affordable , around 4000-5000 per month. Some students opt for PGs in Sodepur. Which are nearby and Safe.

I applied to several colleges For BMLT, including NSHM Kolkata, Jis University, and Techno India University. I got confirmed admission from NSHM and GNIPST. I choose GNIPST due to its affordable fees, better academic environment, well-equipped labs, and experienced faculty.

The faculty-student ratio for the BMLT course at GNIPST is around 1:20. Students Feel Comfortable discussing doubts in the classroom. Among the Faculty Tamalika Chakraborty and Sanchari Sen and Jigisha Roy Panda are highly appreciated for their interactive teaching methods. I like all the faculties they are all like our parents. There are total 4 internal and 1 final exam per Semester. Exams are Easy if you study properly. The curriculum is relevant and updated.

Nightlife around GNIPST is quiet and safe, as the campus is located in Sodepur, Kolkata a mostly residential area. The hostel in-time is 8 PM. and campus gates close by 7:30 PM. The library close by 5 PM. Some popular spots nearby include City Centre 2, Aminia, Dada Boudi Resturent with local tea stalls and street food joints around Sodepur.
