Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum at KIIT University is fairly well-structured but has both strengths and weaknesses in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. Computer Science & IT programs are decent and well-updated with trending topics like AI, ML, and Data Science.Labs and project-based learning help students get hands-on experience. Internships and industry projects are encouraged, especially in tech-related courses. The curriculum is gradually incorporating modern technologies, especially in CS, IT, and MBA programs. Courses like cybersecurity, blockchain, and cloud computing have been introduced. Core engineering branches (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc.) have relatively outdated syllabus. Case studies and live projects could be better integrated into non-technical courses (like Law and Management). KIIT’s curriculum is above average, but certain branches (especially non-CS) need stronger industry alignment. If you’re in Computer Science, IT, or MBA, the curriculum is more relevant and evolving, but for core engineering fields, there’s room for improvement.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships opportunities is based on academic performance and skills like ds, os, coa (especially for cs students) required to crack the internship test. College will provide you mandatory internship in 4th year if you failed to get an internship from your side. Please work on dsa concepts to clear good internships otherwise you will just given a different domain internship in your campus company highradius. Many good companies also visit kiit for internship opportunities. Just maintain your skills to get a good internships experience.

Placement Experience

3

From 6th sem students are eligible for placements and internships. Placement scenario of kiit changes from person to person. For me it is quite average. If u have the perfect skill and decent gpa then it is ok you will get placed in decent company. If not satisfied with in campus placement according to your requirement and skill then try for off campus. According to some seniors highest package was 63 lpa given by startup company Yugabyte. Some companies visiting kiit are jo morgan, amazon, walmart, philips, dell and some mass recruiter are tcs, Deloitte , capegemeini , accenture etc. My plans after degree is to get placed and if possible pursue a master's degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Bhubaneswar offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The fee structure varies depending on the course and changes every year. If you score more than 95 percentile in Kiitee entrance exam you will get scholarship. The scholarship has certain terms and conditions. In every semester you have to maintain 7.5 sgpa and 75 percent attendance in all subjects. According to the scholarship you will get ?10000 per month. Financial aids like loans are also available in certain banks collaborated with kiit. During my admission tution fees was 193000 per semester including all institutional stuffs and all. Caution fees/registration fees is 75000. The registration fees includes a decent laptop and all semester books for the student. So you will not get the registration fees return because they provided laptop and books including those registation fees. But this year the tuition fees changed to 200000 rupees per semester. Caste reservation candidates also get some relief in fees.

Campus Life

4

The university hosts prominent events such as: KIIT Fest: An annual cultural festival held typically in January or February, featuring a variety of cultural, technical, and management events. Technothlon: A technical festival that provides a platform for students to showcase their technical prowess through various competitions and workshops.KIIT's library is well-equipped, offering a vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources to support academic and research pursuits. Students have access to a wide range of materials across various disciplines, facilitating comprehensive learning and research. The university provides modern classrooms equipped with: Computers and projectorsSound systemsInternet connectivity. KIIT boasts impressive sports facilities, including: An expansive athletics stadium Cricket and rugby grounds A velodrome Combined hockey/football stadium 18 sports complexes Olympic-sized swimming pools High-performance gyms.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are different yoe of hotels. 3 to 2 bedded including ac and non AC. Premium feature like attached washroom is also available with different fee charges. Every room is well furnished with chair, table and cupboard. Registration process of hostel is very simple just go to hostel department and apply for it. In one week you will get it. Every hostel has its own mess and dining space. Food quality is decent and changes from hostel to hostel. You can also get pg near nandankan area and kiit square area but it will be beneficial if you get sharing rooms with your friends and split the rent.

Admission

OoI applied in many colleges like SRM, Iter, Bits, vit Ap and some GFTI colleges. Yes I also got rejected in some colleges like Bits due to little low score. Along with kiit I also got confirmed admissions in SRM, iter, and pmec college. I choose kiit because many of my brothers are graduated from kiit with decent exposure and experience. Kiit is also very nearer to my hometown compared to other colleges. The exposure of kiit was also good compared to govt colleges. Admission process in kiit is based on Kiitee entrance examination. Usually it's has three phases and you have to score a decent percentile to get your preferred branch. Eligibility for btech is 60 percent score in 12th boards with pcm as core subjects. It also takes admission based on jee scorecard. You can also admision based on management quota but they will charge you high management fees along with course fees. Overall admission experience is ok ok type not too good or not too bad. But on thing which is not good is that the student intake in cs branches is very high which increases competition.

Faculty

3

As I am of Computer science engineering branch I will tell you it's full scene scenario. There will be more than 50 sections for just computer engineering department including specialisation branches. Each section contains almost 75-80 students. You will have to choose sections every semester from second year and this section selection sucks. Every subject in each section will be taught by one faculty who will deal with almost 80 students. You will get both good faculties and bad faculties. Basically it depends upon your luck and section. For every section there are different faculties. Some faculties whom I liked from cs department are Chittaranjan Pradhan, Kumar Devadutta, Nachiketa Tarasia, Nalini Behera, Dayal Behera, A Ranjit, Rinku Datta, Ramesh Thakur, Kumar Chaudhury, Anuja Acharya, Ajit Pasyat, Arup Acharya, Amulya Swain, Samaresh Mishra, Bindu Agarwala. Literally these teachers help to clear your doubts and teach in a different way which benefits students to understand the concepts and its application. Some may be strict about some factors like attendance, strict behaviour and doubt solving which is quite necessary for some students. They also provide good marks according to your understanding and knowledge. There are also some faculties which provide you very horrible experience in kiit. Due to some institutional reasons I will not disclose the names. In every semester you have to give two exams mid sem and end sem. Mid sem consist of 20 marks and end sem consist of 50 marks. Rest 30 marks is based on assignment, class test, quiz, and student class performance which is provided by the subject teacher.

Night Life

3

Actually night life in kiit during normal day is not too good. For first year there are restrictions like intime before 7pm. So they can't enjoy it. From 2nd year onwards you can start hanging around during night time and do all your stuffs with your friend. For 2nd year boys hostel in time is 8 pm and for 3rd and 4th year it is 11pm. Basically it differs from hostel to hostel. There are 25 hostel for students including girl and boy hostels. For girls hostel in time are little bit strict. Each campus has its own cafeteria and gym. Famous hangout place are mba garden, khao gali , rose garden etc. sometimes it is not locally safe in khao gali because sometimes people often fight and do their own special stuff activities there.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

I have not opted for this college because it was very far from my hometown and I was not getting my preferred branch which was CSE.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
