Remarks

1. The Faculties are very friendly and enthusiastic and ready to help anytime. 2. The girls hostel is separately located off the campus which could be inconvenient at times. 3. The university is very strict in desciplines, minimum attendance should be stictly maintained and there is mendatory assembly every morning. ( yes just like we had in school times) 4. A proper uniform dresscode is also mandatory.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Syllabus the college follows is the same as that of IITs but of course the toughness of the examination and the evaluation level is much more lenient. from second year each student have their own project which will be guided by a faculty which is a good plus point to be considered as all the practical’s skills need to be implemented to excute the projects

Internships Opportunities

College doesn’t provide internship but sure there is always a training program and workshop happening to which an interested students can join. There is Royal Enfield training Centre inside the college campus which provides regular training to the students and a incubation cell is also established recently which supports any start up by the students.

Placement Experience

3

Placements scenario is not the best I would say but that is case in every private engineering college nowadays. A few companies like Royal Enfield, FMC and some IT companies visits for the campus placements but there is nothing much to expect.

College Events

4

The University celebrates two festival annually 1. Prajyuktam - The technical fest held on the odd semesters. Number of technical events are organised. Most of the events are open to any techincal students form any college. There are events like Heckathon, Robowar, paper presentation, bridge building etc. 2. D’verve - sports and Culture held on odd semester. As the names says this fest if all about Extra co-curricular activities like dance competitions, battle of bands, art competition and all kinds of sports. The competition here are mostly Intra college. 3. The university also host the North Eastern Regional Inter College Tournament (NERICT)usually at the time of Prajyuktam. Numbers of college around the states of NE comes for participation. The sports include basket, football and volleyball. Hundreds of students from different colleges gather around the campus which makes it very interesting.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The Fee structure as compared to other private university for the course of engineering it is quite reasonable. The Semester Fee are ?75000/- and ?55000/- for odd and even semester respectively. the one time admission fee is ?20000/- If a student is willing to stay in hostel the Fees varies as 25000/- 27000/- and 32000/- for triple, double and single occupants respectively. There are no extra hidden fees of such. Which is usually the case in other private colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

university provides scholarships on the economic basis and merit basis. There is a fee waiver program for meritorious students. University also assist in education loan at the time of admission if a students needs it.

Campus Life

3.5

The university is really excels Extracurricular activities there are different extracurricular clubs like dance, music, art etc and regular events are held in the college and the management also encourages the students. So it is so frequent that a students from the university win some state level or national level competitions in such activities. The mechanical workshop is off ISO certified and there is RE training centre inside the campus so laboratory is decent for MNE. But computer science laboratories are equip well but the internet connectivity is not the best. The laboratory of the remaining branches are also average one could learn if willing. The college have one basket ball court and couple of volleyball courts that’s it. I like playing football but there is no football field so it is very frustrating at times. Indoor sports doesn’t have anything much to talk about.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel Infrastructure is quite decent. There is is badminton court in each hall and common basket ball court and volleyball courts. The rooms and the surrounding are very clean and regular cleaning is done. The food provided in the mess is decent but could be better.

Alumni/Alumna

Don Bosco College is very newly established College. So alumni network is not welly established that is my understanding after studying the university for 4 years. But alumi society have been formed recently so it is expected that it will strengthen with time. The Junior-senior relationship is best part of this university everyone is friend here. From the day I have arrived till today I’ve always felt welome. There is no such thing like ragging and seniority in the university everyone is treated equally.

Exam Structure

There are there exams in a semester. Classtest 1 and Classtest 2 which carries 10 marks each for final evaluation and End semesters exam which carries 60 marks the remaining 20 marks is cover up by assignments and other internal assessments. The level of thoughness of exam is hardly and average 99% manages to get through.

Admission

The admission criteria of the college is quite lenient as I would say. There will be a nominal written test and a personal interview. But if a student have a score card of JEE Mains he/she doesn’t have to sit for the written test.

Faculty

4

Faculty to study ratio is quite good. But as far as quality is concern it varies with the branch MNE and CVE doesn’t have a very experienced faculty. while ECE, CSE and EEE have very good faculties which good experience and high exposure. Some of the faculties from those branch have a working experience in foreign university and MNC.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart, aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle, ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
