Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is a bit outdated. And the practical knowledge might be less. mostly the sem will be short so you will be having a tight schedule.Which consists of 2 series exams before a semester exam.Once the class starts you will have your first series exam within 2 month another one after a month and then the sem exam after another month You will have lab exams in between. So your schedule would be indeed tight.

Internships Opportunities

2

You need to find internship la yourself during the break you get after the even semester. Other than that the the college does not provide much internship opportunities. So the scope for internship opportunities might start after 3rd year the scope for internship before that is very less

Placement Experience

3

The college has CGPU unit which works for the placement of the students.Different companies visit the campus and hire a decent number of students.CGPU unit provides placement training right from the second year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly tution fee is 40000 which is a lot higher compared to the other government colleges and not much compared to private deemed universities. The college indeed provide scholarship opportunities of different govt schemes.

Campus Life

4

The college has a lot of clubs and all of them are active.Mechartans and velosters are some of the major clubs. Advent is the technical fest of the college and cult a way is the cultural fest which usually takes place in the even semester.Cult a way is another major attraction of the college which is one of the biggest college cultural fest in the state which takes place in kanakkakunnu

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is decent. The monthly rent consists of 6000/- which includes both mess and hostel. The mess quality is just average. And you will have to walk to the hostel to have lunch.Apart from mess other qualities of hostel like room etc are good

Admission

The admission process to the college is KEAM entrance exam. The exam consists of two papers first one will be physics and chemistry and the second paper is mathematics. You have to score 10 marks from both papers to pass the examination.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculties in the college have completed their phd's. Therefore most of the faculties are highly qualified. Some of them are friendly but not all of them. And coming to the exam part you will have 2 series or internal exam before a semester exam.

Night Life

2

The college closes at 6.30 so there is no pretty much night life inside the campus. But most of the boys hostels does not have any time so you can enjoy the night life outside the campus.Night life inside the campus does not exist

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
