What Students Say

Likes

classroom are neat , spacious, ventilated
teachers are well trained, take timely classes
campus is good and very green , lots of trees are present

Dislikes

washrooms are not very clean, they smell, and pad machine available but does not dispense pads
lack of first aid , I have not seen first aid in the campus
some staff are less cooperative but most of them are fine

Course Curriculum Overview

the college is a renowned one the curriculum has real life applications and is good for higher studies teaching methods should be develped from indegenous to smart as smart classrooms are present computer labs have minimum seating which needs to be increased to accomodate a class at once

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 6000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

year wise fees for each semester at my time was 650-700 admission fees is rs. 80 and tuition fees per semester range around 650-700 scholarship like student credit card programme is available overall very affordable

Campus Life

annual fest is QUEST annual socio culturl event also happens intra and inter college competitions take place freshers and farewell is thrown to new and leaving students annual sports day is held sarswati puja is also held

Admission

renowned and famous fees is less good teachers i was waiting my application to be accepted till the last day and it happened. student union organises good programme and helps with getting through difficult times

Faculty

faculty to student ratio 1:100 hrm and statistics faculty are good, it is reflected in their teaching teachers tend to speak more of bengali then hindi , but use of english is considerable as everyone is familiar there are 2 exams in each semester at the semester end , internal and external.

Night Life

gym is present within the college but not working cafe is newly opened common room is present carrom board and table tennis is present hostel facility is not there you have to stay in pg or flat famous hangout spots are nearby

Placement Experience:

Eligible from 1 st sem students on wards Avg package - 4lpa highest is 16lpa After getting this degree i am thinking of pursuing mba anf then getting into business

Well among the curriculum of Bcom my most favourite is the management and Economics part. Cause I really love them and the teachers of that subject are really good . The improvement that I would want is the professors to come to the classes and teach us and finish the syllabus on time.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement in the last year which is 7th and 8 semester one can apply for internship or job from 7th and 8th semester. The highest package offered was of 11 lakh so far. And the average package is 4 to 5 lakh per annum. Like most of the Goenkans I am also thinking of pursuing CA as a profession but for now I am focusing on my BCom degree and after my BCom degree I will complete my MBA from a good reputed college.

It is a 4 year programme which offers placements. But if someone doesn't get direct placement they are still skilled enough to get a job off campus and it can go from 6 LPA to 12 LPA. If the performance is very poor they can't go to the 4th year.

I choose B.Com Hons as my subject because I want to pursue MBA in my future.The faculty of this college is amazing.They are all very helpful.Total no. of students for this course currently is 800 something and each sector has 120 students.The teachers use projectors to make us understand the concept clearly.Sem exams occur every six months and if you study properly you will score good marks for sure

Do Right Things Now For Your Future

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Out of the companies some of them are Institute of Charter Accountancy, Institute of GST ETC. They give us some packages for jobs. Like the highest package is about 50000 rupees and the lowest is 15000 rupees. Only few studets get chance in this companies. Like 5-10% students. I want to be a bank manager so i just keep my study moving on.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
