Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum at RIT College Kottayam is rated as 2/5(it's my personal opinion). Strength: The curriculum is considered relevant to industry needs, with a focus on practical application. The faculty members are highly educated with holding many phDs from reputed institutions like IITs. Weakness: limited core placement is the main limitation of this college. Some student's feel that the teaching methods could be improved, with more emphasis on hands on learning and practical applications. Exams are held regularly, with a mix of internal and external assessments. I find this course challenging and manageable, with a focus on testing skills and knowledge. Since I'm a CS student ofcourse I've experienced bad days in my life. Areas for improvement: more industry collaboration, improved infrastructure.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are several companies offered different intership. I was offered IIT Hyderabad intership of 2 days in online mode. I got certificate for that, it offers ktu activity points. And I attended internships from qnyds which is quite affordable and good for getting knowledge

Placement Experience

3

I'm a first year student so I don't know the details about the college placements. But I know that for CSE placements are quite reasonable and good. But for civil department it's heartbreaking that they don't get enough placements. My plan after getting the degree is to take MBA from reputed institutions like IIM. The average package of salary is around 6LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT) in Kottayam has a detailed fee structure for its various courses. Fee Structure - B.Tech: ?22,000 per year - M.Tech: ?22,000 per year - B.Arch: ?21,000 per year - MCA: ?22,000 per year Other Compulsory Charges - Admission Fee: ?1,000 (one-time payment) - Registration Fee: ?500 (one-time payment) - Caution Deposit: ?5,000 (refundable) - Lab Fee: ?2,000 per year - Development Fee: ?1,000 per year Scholarship Details RIT Kottayam offers several scholarships to its students, including: - MCM Scholarship: available to all students, with eligibility criteria based on academic performance and parental income. - e-Grantz: provides financial assistance to students, with an annual amount of ?16,000. - KPCR Scholarship: offers fee reimbursement to SEBC students pursuing government-aided or self-financing engineering courses.

Campus Life

4

My experience about my college is what I was not expected. I expected more. But overall better college when it comes to tech fests, arts fest, sports fest. Last year 'keli' a famous art fest happened in RIT Kottayam. It was such a good fest crowded by all the students. Ritu, aaravam etc are the good fests that happened in our college

Hostel Facilities

3

College facility is average. My college hostel is good. But it has no shelf and room is so small. Food quality is above average. It's good. For the registration of college hostels you should submit adhar card copy, income certificate, and ration card copy (if BPL). The locality is not good. Not have a hospital but have a bar. The food quality of several PG's are very bad.

Admission

The best government college I got according to my rank is Rajiv Gandhi institute of technology. I prefer CSE in RIT rather than EC from more reputed College. I got admission in NSS palakkad for CS. Since it is an autonomous college I think government college is better in every manner. It's affordable to choose govt colleges. I got rejected from CET my marks are not good to get admission in CS from CET. I was sick during the exam that's why I got less marks in entrance exam. The eligibility exam is KEAM Entrance exam. I got 3511 rank. CSE is most preferred course from this college because placements are quite good when compared to other departments.

Faculty

2

Faculty to student ratio is almost 1:7. The faculties are not approachable. Some of them are quite approachable but the majority of faculties are not approachable. They're not providing healthy communication with the students. The main reason I hate this college is because of the some teachers. There are some good faculties like Devan sir for chemistry, Sajeev sir for physics etc. The faculty I hate the most is the Divya miss for basic electrical engineering. She reduced my internal mark for no reason. Then I asked about it and she didn't even hear my statement. Rejected me 2 times without hearing anything. There are 6 papers to clear within a sem. It's very difficult to study within a short period of time. Even though the curriculum is good it is very hard to understand the topics because some of the topics are new to the course

Interview Experience

2

There's an exam conducted every year. KEAM is entrance exam for to get admission in this college. The students get a reasonable rank would get admission in CSE department. I prepared for 1 year for JEE examination and I didn't manage to clear the exam as I expected. So my last hope was keam.

Night Life

2

First I went to college water tank. It was such a wonderful experience. The sunset was so good. There's separate gyms for both men and women. The cafeteria is affordable. Library is also good but we can't take books from outside to inside the library. Hostel opening time is from 6 am to 9:30 pm. The curfew timing is not satisfied with the students in government college. It's sad. Why is there disparity between girl and a boy. Everyone should get equal right for hanging out. Night life is not good here. Locality is bad. The people are not good and not forwarded. It's low class people and their mindset is bad for students.

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows
