Remarks
Overall it is best package you could get if you are capable enough as it ain't easy to get admission here, there are many who have their dream college as VJTI. You have the opportunity to excel in any field you want.
Course Curriculum Overview
I think that the curriculum is the best that I could get it's a bit higher level compared to the Mumbai university curriculum and updated. The subjects are quite well distributed among semesters and not all important subjects in just one semester.
Internships Opportunities
No, it doesn't itself but it will provide you with sources through which you can apply for internships. The seniors play a major role in this as they provide you with information about what has to be done at what time. Also at times, they will ask you not to miss out on the opportunities that are available in the market which they themselves couldn't take advantage of because of unawareneas.
Placement Experience
This is the best part of the college. The tpo cell is quite persistent in its efforts right from getting you an internship to getting you a job. It brings to you the greatest options availablez owing to their contacts in the market through an experience of so many years. Various multinational companies visit the campus every year and almost 90% of students from computer and IT departments are selected in the interviews. Other departments as well benefit from them but then it's not all upto them you yourself have to as well put in the effort, noone is spoon feed.
College Events
This is yet another topic of interest of our college. Our college organizes events at such a frequency as are festivals in an Indian calendar. One of most famous of it is the technovanza fest which takes place every year by the end of December. It showcases various talents from the college. It has a Guest lecture segment in which Renowned people in their various field come and sabre some words of wisdom. There are also some cultural events one of such is the pratibimb event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible compared to other engineering colleges. The regular fee is 76000 rupees for general category students, 31500 for OBC category students, 10000 for SC category students. There is an option to pay fee in two installments.
Fees and Financial Aid
College itself doesn't provide loans but it will help you and provide you with required documents needed for applying for a loan in banks. Also there are some private trusts that offer scholarships to meritorious students. You would be provided with information about all such scholarships through the scholarship department also there is a tag on the college website and you can get required information.
Campus Life
You are informed with the upcoming events in sports. College supports various sports. As i mentioned earlier about the two playgrounds, so you have an in-house facility to practice your sport. You are encouraged to participate in various inter college, department level sports.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility should rated best even if isn't because what could you get at such a cheap rate in Mumbai, and that too in central place like Dadar. It isn't bad as you might have thought from what I just said but how can one expect hostel to be perfect as the people who live there are college going students. It is a well maintained place with adequate facilities and two big grounds like a cherry on top. Although there aren't quite enough rooms to accommodate the student capacity but just hope you are lucky enough to get a seat there.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni are great source of inspiration for the upcoming students. There is alumni association that helps the college in every possible manner. They also provide fundings for various maintenance and renovation works
Exam Structure
There are two semesters per year as is for all of the engineering colleges. Each semester has a mid term examination and a semester examination the weightage varies but mostly it is 60-20-20. 60 from the semester examination, 20 from internal, and 20 from mid term.
Admission
The admission procedure is quite same as for other colleges through cap rounds. First you have to sign up for the MH CET examination which is an entrance examination for engineering colleges. This examination is valid for admission in almost all of the engineering colleges in Maharashtra except for the IITs and NITs and some private colleges. Then an examination is held in most probably in the month of May which was a 200 marks exam when I gave it. The paper has objective type questions and syllabus for it is standard HSC syllabus plus some extra information about each of the topic. Then, after the results of this exam are displayed which is probably after a month the admission process begins. You have to login into your account on the website of MH CET and upload necessary documents. Then there are CAP rounds mostly 3 and one additional round. You have to select the list of all colleges in which you wish to get admission. Based on your merit rank you are assigned a seat, if applicable, from the list of colleges you selected for your particular chosen department. If you get the desired seat in the first round itself no need to apply for the next rounds and you can freeze your seat which just means confirming admission. But if you don't then you can again apply in the next round. I personally got my seat in the 4th round so no need to hurry because once you are alloted a seat it is yours even if you apply in the next round and don't get a different seat in that round. After freezing your seat, in whichever round you do, you have to go to a facilitation centre and confirm your admission, they will give you a receipt against it. You might want to keep the required documents ready before all this process which are mostly caste certificate. Validity certificate, marksheets(10 & 12), Aadhar card, Income certificate, Non creamy layer certificate, domicile certificate.
Faculty
The faculty might not be the best at teaching but they will support you in all possible ways whether it is about some project or some co-curricular activity. They are a well experienced faculty and you might get to learn some life lessons from them as well.
