Course Curriculum Overview

3

The relevance and comprehensiveness can be quite a subjective and individual view point, as our college is associated with vtu it's new scheme is diluted compared to previous year topic difficulty to make student's college journey less burdensome while keeping some relevance and application to engineering level, for those who've taken computer science there are many topics which are very important and still very industry relevant while some topics seems to have to connection what so ever, what I would suggest is keep the questions exercise based which forces us to go out of our comfort zone and search and apply a certain specific function or a method instead it pushes to act and apply program or exercise our programming in only a certain area or aspect or a very compact and fixed regime well one might say that it's a fine working well oiled machine each cog having a functionality and essentiality when one doesn't work a cog must be replaced right but that isn't a case while it continues to fail it's students in exams the correction is not at all fair, they sometimes intentionally fail students to make them right make up or scan the answer paper for the sake of revenue it's very unfair the students stay up day and night some students aren't bright they just want to pass and be in the clear whilst they get a degree upon which they plan to elaborate their skill set level we must accept this and change this for good, this is really pressuring while giving sem end exams as to you don't know even if you've written your best out of all the given knowledge you had you might still fail this is the scenario of vtu students and with this pressure having to maintain a good cgpa, develop skills and have your other lively aspects proves to be challenging and makes students much more anxious instead of working with and for students

Internships Opportunities

3

The internships are frequently shared and updated in the communication groups managed by the placement department and teaching faculty. These opportunities are generally targeted at students across different semesters, with certain distinctions based on their year of study. For students in the lower semesters, the majority of internships offered are unpaid, providing a chance to gain basic experience and knowledge without financial compensation. However, as students advance to higher semesters, they are typically presented with paid internships. These often come with the added convenience of online working options, allowing students to balance academic responsibilities alongside professional tasks. The nature of these internships usually involves completing small, manageable tasks on a daily basis, with a monthly stipend ranging from ?10,000 to ?20,000, depending on the organization and role. Ultimately, the type of internship and the stipend offered largely depend on the specific field of interest and the skill set the student brings to the table. Unfortunately, I cannot provide detailed insights from personal experience, as I have not enrolled in any internships so far. However, some of the well-known companies that offer such opportunities include Wipro, Infosys, and several others.

Placement Experience

3

The placement cell is pretty professional and is handled by a qualified personnel who's enthusiastic and very much interested in students getting placed good and have employability by the end of their curriculum the avg package in our college is around 4 to 6 lpa and there were cases where students went to Japan with their jlpt exam score with N3 level of Japanese speaking and one of the senior was placed in USA with 44k dollars and there were others who got 10lpa but very few, the placement cell conducts weekly tests and one benchmark test in 5th sem to find eligible students for placement is is based on technical, aptitude and other factors such as communication and skills upon which they are pushed further to take up interviews, tests and other testing grounds in companies that arrive to employ the students they even conduct training to improve student's communication, aptitude, and technical strength so they are industry ready this year placement training begin even for 3rd sem students for the first time in JIT this was pioneered,

Fees and Financial Aid

Well I joined through comedk and got alloted cse seat in all the 3 rounds of counseling, so I paid comedk fees which are 189,192 which is the tuition fees and 25,000 is paid as building fees when I came to college to confirm my seat and enroll properly and 15,000 is vtu skill development fees, from the next sem the building fees is not taken and anyone with the rank around 30 to 40k in comedk or kcet ranking when applied to counseling can get alloted our college, for a better management fees come before kcet and comedk fees right after boards you'll have a high ground with fees negotiations and if one comes after the results of comedk and kcet they'll tell really high fees and you'll lose the negotiation high ground and will have to go with the market rate and pay up unnecessarily high and the fees for CSE and AIML management seat will at a all time high and it will be quoted different student yo student and on how early when it comes to book the seats the student has to pay 20k and reserve the seat and pay the full later when the sem starts, a friend of mine is from sc/st category he's got everything covered in scholarship including fees and even the hostel is a government hostel and then for a friend of mine who's a 2cc category I think and he got enrolled through SNQ for which the fees 30k for a year

Campus Life

3

The social is pretty peaceful and chill in campus there are people from good background and family with whom you may easily spend 4 years and have no problem with bullying or any ragging is not at all seen there are anti ragging bills everywhere with severe actions taken if found anyone committing the offense, the seniors are pretty chill, friendly and very available to help out juniors they are enthusiastic about any group activities, events and always open to queries if asked upon, to have someone who's gone through the same and hear them out or ask their help regarding any sticky situation in college related issues is very reassuring and helps students get little free and relaxed the campus life is really good and there's space for parking, there's veneration, reverence during festivals and there are industrial visits and every now and then during occasions meals are given to both staff and students and alot of i mean alot of offers come to student by many organizations for students of JIT through the college and the library has a wide range of books and journals there's no doubt we might not have a really big, fancy and aesthetic library but it's filled eith the most relevant and student friendly books and you can return them in 14 days, can add extension take it home eith thr help of one's id card

Admission

I did visit the college for enquiry of admission and seeing the campus, as I got really bad rank in kcet and was suggested the college by a friend, the comedk results were yet to come and was confused to reserve and book the seat or not and when waited out for comedk results and checked with the last year cutoff it all aligned well and was glad to have got the seat through all the 3 seats of comedk counseling, there's no criteria such as interviews, tests, or sort of specialized examination conducted by JIT to get a seat, it is so let based on either comedk and kcet ranking and their respective counseling even jee and advance rank is futile they aren't heeded much attention or are completely irrelevant or as usual the student can enrol through payment or management seat these are the only known ways or methods to enroll into JIT What went wrong is i got really bad grades in 12 as well as very bad rank in kcet i can't solely blame bad rank to me opting for CBSE which students face many difficulties during boards as i did and felt very underconfident and bad after giving boards as the paper they set is all time tough and very time consuming to write while I did pass but not eith the best of marks i could have received

Faculty

3

I have keen interest in computer from the beginning and wanted to pursue a career in it or computer technology or field and thought I would do pretty good at it, when it comes to faculty teaching all the teachers teaching is pretty good they are highly qualified and have a keen interest for teaching and seeing their students rise above and not just with marks but practically and in life and their style differs from person to person one teaches with real good life examples while one teaches like a robot just no emotions and just wants to get out of class, some are really arrogant and just want to humiliate the students by downgrading them alot by scolding them they are worthless but some teachers there are priceless, at first they would conduct 2 internals but now they conduct 3 internals take average of those 3 internals and yeah the internals and even the sem end exams are timed perfectly there's never delays in those sort of things but around 3rd sem it can get very compact and time straining which can get tiresome as internals and lab internals get nearer the teachers tend to run or fast forward the syllabus without concretely explaining the topics as students enter the department in 3rd sem the students are riddled with confusion as things are speeding up and the fear of not keeping up and the pressure of not understanding or learning something new in this day and age can be very anxious,

Night Life

3

We have a cafeteria below the 2 buildings provided for engineering which provides a wide range of refreshments and snacks with a very pocket friendly pricing considering the students of all backgrounds and financial spectrum can afford a meal without having to pay unnecessarily more and there's a cafeteria provided for commerce students too which just opposite to their respective buildings there's a stationary inside engineering block 1 which provides all sorts of support needed such as photo copy and printout both color and black/white with really reasonable prices which are lesser compared to outside market rate the college campus is in thathaguni village which is pretty safe and peaceful as it is near kanakpura road there's no way around traffic and vehicle related accidents and one has to be really careful in those aspects and there's metro being constructed with road repair constantly going the road quality throughout the years has been really bad if one travels from far distances

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Packages Offered (Approximate) ???? Salary Range Highest Package (overall): ~?40–50 LPA (off-campus / international offer, mostly CS) Highest for Core / Chemical roles: ~?8–10 LPA Average Package (overall): ?7–8 LPA Average for Chemical Engineering: ?4–6 LPA ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ???? My Plans After Completing the Degree After completing my B.E. in Chemical Engineering, I plan to: Gain industry experience through campus placement or off-campus opportunities
