Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have choosed Mechanical engineering at IIT Delhi which i know many might not prefer. But in this present world of CS and AI i know there will be still demand of mechanical engineers in the market and all my friends took CS or AI also i am interested in Cars robots machines. The labs of mechanical engineering are really very good. The first time i entered there i thought did i came to the future or what. Still i dont know more about it as in 1st year at IIT Delhi we all have same sub and all branches students study same sub

Internships Opportunities

5

Actually i dont have much idea about intership at IIT Delhi as i am a fresher here. But i know that many students get internship at IIT Delhi in various branches. Different companies hieres different students for projects at different places

Placement Experience

5

Students generally get placements in the 4th year but can get pre placement offer in the 2nd or 3 year if they are extra ordinary in that field. Tata, zomato, hundai, swiggy, google, Microsoft etc big companies come for placements in our college. The avg offers made are around 20-22 lakhs for mechanical engineering and the highest ever for mechanical is 55 lakhs last year. 90 percent student gets placement but those 10 percent are those students who want to do start up or want to pursue higher studies. My plan is to do a Start up after degree

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee I pay is 200000 per year and 100000 per year. The hostel rent is 16000 per year and the mess charge is 70000 per year. The other charges are exam fees that is 2000 per year. There are no lab charges. All the categories have same fees but those children who have there parental income between 1 lakh to 5 lakh then they need to only pay one third of the Institute fees and those children who parental income is less than 1 lakh there studies are totally free of cost

Campus Life

5

The rendezvous which our cultural fest take place in September which is the biggest cultural fest in North India. Also we have kaizen in February which is social fest and GC from January which is sports fest which ends in March. The GC is the same as the GC shown in chichore!!! All the hostel fight for the 1st place and its really crazyy. Also we have tech fest in march. The sports ground are highly maintained and also we have Olympic level swimming pool in our college. Yes students run different clubs of dancing singing robotics lits facc etc. Also we have social run groups in our college

Hostel Facilities

5

In our hostel we are given a reading room visitors room TV room dancing room table tennis boards all with AC facility also with basketball court cricket nets badminton court a ooen garden l. The meal is definitely worthy according to a hostel. They maintain proper hygein and also covering there heads and hands everytime they cook food. Hostel is given randomly to us and we have to stay in it for 4 years. The rooms are provided randomly but we can choose the partners by ourselves. I have no idea about pg as all students of IIT Delhi live in hostel only unless they are of Delhi

Admission

I had applied for IIT Bombay mechanical but i did not make it there as my rank was not that much. Also i was getting CS in tier 2 iits but as i mentioned i wanted to go to mechanical branch because of my interest. For admission process you need to get a good rank in jee Advance exam and then u need to go to josaa website and according to your rank you need to choice fill of colleges in the website and according to your choices which is on top and you are getting that will be alloted to you. You are allowed to give jee advance exam only 2 time in your life

Faculty

5

We have to types of faculty in our college. One- proffs(one who teaches us) and second- TA(Teaching Assistant) who takes out tutorials in which the TAs solve our doubts which we cant ask in the class. The proff student ratio is 1:200 and TA student ratio is 1:30. The faculties is liked is Aparna Mehta Maam from Mathematics department as she had taught us Math in very nice way and i really enjoyed her classes in 1st Sem. All the faculty in our college are very nice. Now talking about exams then we have 2 quizes one mid Sem exam and one final exam and all have their own weightage out of 100 depending on different subjects.

Night Life

5

You will be shocked but real life at IIT is at Night. The library is open till night 3 and again opens at 6am. Every hostel has its own gym and open free to all at any time. The hangout places inside our college are Biotech Lawn Nalanda ground Main building etc. For outside we usually go to GS Rai for street food. We are free to go anywhere in or out campus at any time but strangers are not allowes to enter at night also the entry timings are 24*7.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
