Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because as the the curriculum of this year has been updated to a more job specific type. For real world aspects this improves a student's ability to understand what they are studying for.

Internships Opportunities

3

The companies that offer internship are TATA , Reliance, etc and they offer many junior roles for the students so that after their graduation they can have an overview of what they are going to do. As a Chemical Engineering student getting internship in many chemical industries is very crucial for our future.

Placement Experience

3

The placement opportunities of my collage is some what ok we have placement opportunities from TATA, L&T, Reliance, Walkaro and many more companies whom came for placement cells. The average package a student can receive is about 5 lakh rupees. The students are eligible for campus selection in the 7th semester for their 8 semester course

Fees and Financial Aid

For an year we have to pay 9500 rupees. This is only tution fee .we have to give extra fees for transportation, exam fees , pta fund, alumni fund etc. There are many scholarship like E grantz but I cannot avail that scholarship because of financial reasons.

Campus Life

4

The campus experience of Government engineering College Kozhikode is quite good. We have many clubs and the library is well equipped with books that the students can take. There are many sports activities like football, badminton, basketball, handball, kho kho etc and there is dance club and a music band group here.

Admission

I chose this collage because in Kerala only less collages had chemical engineering as one of their main courses. As I did some enquiry Government engineering College Kozhikode had made one of the top 3 collages with chemical engineering. The admission procedure for getting into this collage is by an examination called KEAM which is a entrance exam for getting into collages in Kerala. Since the cut off for other collages where somewhat high I decided to join this collage.

Faculty

4

The faculty members are are well acquired with subject knowledge and most of them have doctorate and all of their class are very interesting to listen and we will not get bored. The exams are happening in frequent intervals and it helps us to understand our level in understanding the subject and helps us in attending the main exam.

Night Life

4

The night life inside the collage is quite less. The cafeteria, library etc gets closed of at the evening. Since it is Kozhikode there are many places that you can hangout with your friends. One of the main attraction is the Kozhikode beach. People can go there at any time and have a good time spend with their friends. The locality is safe since there is police checking 24/7.

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Students normally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (3rd year). TIST has ties with many companies that visit the campus for placement drives every year. Some of the known recruiters include: TCS, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Aspire Systems, Birlasoft, ITC Infotech, South Indian Bank, HTC Global, Schneider Electric, Danfoss, Rikun and others.Highest Package: Up to around ?10 LPA Collegedunia Average Package: Around ?3–4 LPA for many companies. Some department reviews suggest averages closer to ?3–4 LPA and up. Around 75–80% of eligible students get placed each year across various departments. Careers360

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
