Remarks

Speaking very frankly except some negative review almost all are positive. University has to remain touched up with corporate world so that students come to know about the practical implementation of their bookish knowledge and it also helps them to remain knowledgeable about current happenings. Faculties also help students in this context. But over all the reviews are very positive.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is quite old. it should be changed according to latest industry oriented concepts along with theoretical concepts also. There are 2 exams in every semester.Internal and final exam.In internal there is Viva vice and written exam. Sometime assignments are given as internal course work.

Placement Experience

2.5

Technically University does not provide internship. But one can do that on his own through.I have also done in same way. Also there is no placement cell at all.My department gives placement every year with the help of our alumni association and our faculties also help us in this context.

College Events

4

There are seminar and workshops conducted in a normal way.Oh yeah annually one cultural academic fest are organized by University around winter time through out 3 to 5 days and many events workshops , competition are organized there ,both inter University and intra University.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible as it is a government University.I means it is between the range of a common economical background student. In my course it is 140000 for first 3 years and in Masters level it is around 3500.I mean in Masters level for science sub it is around 3500 and in arts subject it is around 2500 as they don't have any lavaratory sessions. So it is quite normal corresponding to any government University.

Fees and Financial Aid

University offers many scholarship for needy student in govt and central government as well as from own funding also. There are government scholarship like svmcm, minority bscholarahips etc and from Central government side there is inspire, Ugc funded scholarships ,csir funded scholarships.Apart from this University has it's bown scholarships also.

Campus Life

3.5

Every department has their own labs including computer and other research instruments.Besides there is a central lab computing facility and one central library.Almost every year sports meet has organized by sports department and sometimes many department have played different matches respect to their own interest.

Hostel Facilities

4

I have not opted for hostel. But the hostel infrastructure is quite good.there are separate hostels for boys and girls and they are afar distance apart.Girls hostel have very strict restrictions about entry timings in evening.Every student has one single room and almorah and desk inside our room. The bathroom and dinning halls are clean enough.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network in my department is very good. But when it comes to entire University it somehow tears apart. But in every department annual reunion has organized by the senior most students and in that program many seniors come and share their experiences and helps recent students as much as they can.

Admission

When I was admitted then it was based on the higher secondary marks. But later on 2016 onwards it has been changed to admission test. But for admission in Masters course there is a separate entrance test.

Faculty

4

Faculties are very good in my University and they are helpful. But some new recruits should be added as no of faculty is now quite less. This is only for my subject. But in many department there are available teachers.Almost every teacher of each department is helpful. They also guide their PhD students and mentor them to achieve big success in life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
