Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college follows the UGC curriculum given by the government. We have in total 7 papers in the 1st semester:- DSC 1, DSC2, DSC3 (Disciplinary course) - these are the main paper of the subject Then we have to select four other papers GE AEC SEC VAC The papers are held in semester form, in 1 year we have 2 semester. Other than semester exams we have to give test, assignment and practical exams(if any). The areas for improvement in the curriculum is not needed much but there can be improvement in teaching methods because the other papers (GE, SEC VAC, AEC) are made for students to enhance skills in other fields. But the teacher's are very casual in these subjects. They do not take proper classes.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees that i have paid is 16,185. Tution fees - 9000 Caution fees - 1000 Registration fees - 2000 Admission fees - 2000 Development fees - 2000 Lab fees - 185 The fees is same for all the categories. But this year they have increased the fees for new students, because the seniors are paying relatively less fees. And in my opinion it is too much for a delhi university college. The college provides various scholarships for ews, lower classes.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is very engaging, there are many clubs in the college which conduct various programs in their field, like Valentino - Fashion club conducts ramp walk Corporates - Conduct Blitz event which is a big live event of singing, dancing. Each faculies has its own Society, which conducts programs related to their subjects. The technological provisions in the classrooms is not very good. The sports facilities for Kho-Kho and kabaddi is the best, we have gym in the campus.

Admission

So the admission has been made very simple, the admission are held through CUET exam. The eligibility is you have to be 12th pass. We have to clear cutoffs of different colleges to get admission. I applied in other colleges of Delhi University and Banaras University. I also got admission in Banaras University but i got Sociology hons there, which i don't wanted to do. I confirmed this college because it comes under DU and it provides a good environment and diversity and it will be best siutable for my profile. I got rejected from the top colleges of DU because i could not clear cutoff.

Faculty

3

My faculty to student ratio in the 1st semester is 3:100, my faculty relation with the student is very nice. The professors are very friendly and helpful. In my whole faculty there are 18 professors, and total no. of students are 700. The faculties i liked the most is B.com, because they have a very good environment within themselves, they help each other out, they are interactive, they are huge in numbers. Other faculties that i like is Economics hons. The faculties that i dont like is B.A. Program, because the teachers are not very friendly

Interview Experience

2

For admission i had to only appear for Cuet exams which was a mcq examination. We had to clear cutoffs of different colleges to get admission. We had to fill preferences of colleges and based on our marks and cutoffs of the college, we got admission.

Night Life

2

We have a gym in the campus which is accessible for the sports students, and the library is the best. I love the library, it is well maintained, has AC, proper lighting, well maintained books. College timing for the morning students - 8:30 am to 2:30 pm The college does not provide hostel facilities. The locality does not seem safe to roam around at night.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

Placement Experience:

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
