THE UNTOLD STORY OF MY COLLEGE MSIT- KOLKATA

The course which i am in is named Computer Science and Business Systems. Its a very versatile stream with computer science blended with business studies and ideas. The course curriculum is also followed by all the teachers properly. the teachers are well versed with their subjects and teaches us each and evrything with detailed analysis so as to clear all the concepts properly.

MSIT also provides students with internship oppurtunities to help students to learn many new things and earn stipend which would give financial aid to their course. MSME internship is a recent one which has became famous for students and they are taking part in the program.

The placement record of MSIT is not very high but more than average. Almost every year more than 70 percent students are being placed through on campus and remaining other went to off campus ones and some for higher education. The companies visiting our college are like Amazon, wipro, cognizant, google, TCS, simplex, etc. The highest package is almost around 25 lakhs per annum and average CTC offered around 7-8 LPA.

Talking about the yearly fees, i can say that it is approximately 1,60,000 per year which inludes two semesters. Thus, considering the whole 4 years couse fees is about 6.5 lakhs. The other fees include admission, registration, development , cautionary, lab fees which all total rounds upto somewhat 8000/- and above. However, these fees are negotiable in case of minority pupils which includes SC,ST, and other backward classes. Their course fees is also much less as compared to general students. The fees of other streams of Btech is also same around 6-7 lakhs. General degrees such as BBA,BCA, are offered a little less fees as compared to technical courses. However, there are some scholarships which provides financial aids to students to keep on their course smoothly namely the West Bengal Government's Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Scholarship, which provides around 60,000/- annually to the students during their course period as a financial supportn to the needy. Other than that, there are some private and central government scholarships as well to help the students in their course finacially. However, getting those scholarships is not guaranted.

Yes, besides study and course curriculum there are also many clubs and all which provides students with fun and entertainment throughout the college life. People who are interested in song and dance and music can take part in clubs like Sargam and Yuva. Social goodwork is also done by a club named RCMSIT. The library of MSIT is also well equipped with all the books needed by the students to pass their exams. Many journals are also maintained in the library.

Other than MSIT, i also opted for NSEC, RCC, Heritage, etc. However, out of these i got only the RCC college confirmed of admission. But i was selected for the ECE stream which i was not satisfied with. Moreover, the faculty of ECE was also not good enough at that time, thus i refrained from joining that college. Then after that i came to MSIT with Wbjee rank merit and they admitted me in the CSBS stream.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:2. But, however the faculty is well trained and equipped to how deal with the students of all types.Their rerlationship with the students is also very much friendly and caring. They always help out the ones which are in need anytime and anywhere. Some of the best facultuiuies are from the BSH department namely Sumit Som sir, HOD, Jayita Pal mam, and many others. On the other hand, there are many other faculties who are not so friendly and charming but i do not want to name them. There are different exams throughout the whole year which includes CA, class test, and others. The main exam is SEM exams which is the most vital and difficult.

The nightlife is not so great in the college. There is lack of gyms and cafeteria near around. Hostels are also present near the college and it has its own proper guidelines and timings. There are some hangout places near the college which are a good and nice spot to spend time with our close ones.
