Course Curriculum Overview

5

Best course in CUSAT is ECE. There are lot of opportunities for ECE students. There is enough time for lectures and exams. The duration of one semester is merely 3 to 4 months which is efficient for a proper preparation for exams

Internships Opportunities

5

In ECE, keltron have offered internship opportunities with a stipend of 1500rs. Apart from keltron, few received bsnl, bhel, drdo internships. The project I have done during internship is an electronic digital lock system using 555 timer ic.

Placement Experience

5

From sixth sem onwards the placements starts. In ECE, every year different companies visits us for placements such ibm, Siemens, tcs, Microsoft and lot more. Highest package till is 25lpa in Amazon and the average package is 3 lpa Around 70% of students gets placed. I have planned for MTech after completing my graduation

Fees and Financial Aid

General category Tuition fee 48000 Exam fee 2500 Admission fee 4500 Caution 500 Lab 500 NRI Tuition fee 65000 SC ST Tuition fee 1500 Exam fee 250 Egrantz for sc st students is also availed where they have to pay 1500 as fee

Campus Life

5

There are lot of clubs like nss, nature club, photography club and more. We have access to any of the departments in CUSAT and we can interact with the students and faculties there. There is a matlab operating in CUSAT where we can develop our skills

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel fee is 3500/ month. We get a feasible 3 time meals which consists of different menus. In sundays there will be a special menu. Hostel registration is based on the cat rank and distance from college to our hometown

Admission

I chose CUSAT since it is a very famous university since 1971. A lot many renowned personalities graduated from CUSAT. There are lot of opportunities waiting smoothly students from CUSAT. Before joining CUSAT, I got admission in gec Thrissur and model engineering college Thrikkakara. But I opted out those since they are centralised with ktu which is not that better than Cochin university. I have not got any rejection from other colleges. The admission process is based on the rank we get in the CUSAT common aptitude test. Through that exam the university selects around 15000 students for the admission procedure

Faculty

4

There is a strong bond between student and faculty. The faculties are really friendly with the students. All the faculties are best and it also depends from person to person Talking about the exam criteria there is continuous assessment exams out of 30 and end semester exam which is out of 50. Then there is lab exams out of 25 each followed by viva.

Night Life

4

There is a open gym for all the hostel students which will be open after class hours. Then 24hrs cafeteria in the campus. The university library is opened till 8pm. The hostel timing is till 12 am. As of now the locality is safe for girls and boys

Other Applied Colleges

Govt. Model Engineering College - [MEC] Thrikkakara | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

CUSAT is much better than model engineering colleg

Govt. Model Engineering College - [MEC] Thrikkakara | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

Because CUSAT is much better than model eng college since they provide better opportunities, facilities etc for the students.

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
