Dislikes
- Here most of the teachers are from WB , so sometimes they start talking in Bangla so as a Non - Bengali you sometimes feel left-out.
- Also most of the students are from WB so in starting it takes some time to patch-up with them.
- There are many more sports like rock-climbing, swimming, shot - put ,etc but only for school students .
Course Curriculum Overview
Talking about the curriculum of CSE you will find many odd subjects like mechanical workshops , engineering drawing , etc . in 1st semester that may feel irrelevent . Computer related subjects started from 2nd semester . But the most important thing is the syllabus related to computer and software are relevent . If any module is completed then you can expect a surprise test any day In mid there will be mid-sem and end- sems at the end .

Them we also have debate and quiz clubs. We also have GDG which is one of the largest in Kolkata , organising many events.
Admission
HIT is the best private college in WB . And also provides great exposure to its students. These things are the reason that i am here. Of all the colleges i have applied for, i find HIT with return of investment. I have taken many exams like JEE(MAINS + ADVANCED ), VIT, WBJEE. I was getting ECE in nits but i was very fond of CSE so i choose HIT which is a good decision . I was also getting VIT but the fee structure was the barrier. HIT is taking admissions from JEE and WBJEE both. For CSE in HIT your rank should be upto 4200 (in wbjee ) and around 55,000 in jee mains.
Faculty
As a first year student , i feel that most of the teachers are very understanding and teaches their subject in a a very well mannered order . So basically there are two groups in a section , each with 30 students . Labs are for individual groups but for lectures both groups are combined . So for labs faculty to students ratio is 1:30 and for lectures it is 1:60. But despite that , teachers are approachable . Talking about the exams there will be sem , mid-sem exams . Apart from that there will be many surprize tests , assignments , vivas , practicals . And for an average student these are doable . Talking about the relevency , the course is well structured and aligned with industrial technologies .
Night Life
HIT has a library (Also digital library) where students can go and study from 9 am to 5 pm .HIT only has girls hostel in campus , it has one boys hostel but outside the campus . It ha s a canteen where you can have anything from tea , snacks , to lunch . It has a gym but it's under maintainence . Around HIT you will find many lakes and greeneries . Also there is a big mall near (Acropolis).
