Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is designed by the University making it highest standards of Indian college education. Each Unit in the semester consists of important topics which comprehend the student for further academics. Areas for improvement include more intuitive learning making students work outside of classroom, field trips to related facilities providing them first hand experience into the industry. Examinations are held twice a year as per two semesters annually (December - January and April - March)

Fees and Financial Aid

I've paid 16.7k in my first year of college upon admission, 18.5k in my second year of college. The college provides various kinds of scholarships including Alumni Funded scholarship, Book Aid for students (Max amount of 5k INR), University also provides fee reimbursement for students studing in DU (Max reimbursement upto 20k) etc. Examination fees are not included in the college fee, they should be paid for during every semester when applying for examinations at end. Examination fees are as per mentioned - Standard fee for each subject - 200 Practical fee for subjects including practical exam - 150

Campus Life

3

Campus Life is isn't much compared to colleges which have accomodation facility. ARSD have a Nescafe and a college canteen, common rooms for both genders, an atrium, two basket ball nets, two cricket nets and a massive mowed football ground. Students tend to sit in the ground under the delhi sun in the cool winters, sports are held very often, you see students with their cricket kits, basket and volley balls walking all through the campus. Nescafe gets the most attention after canteen where students spend their leisure time drinking hot chocolate or cold tea. Their are so many clubs active in the college catering space to every student's interest. Notable ones are PixElation - Photography and Videography society, TILT - Movie appreciation society and FIC - Finance society. ARSD have labs for all kinds of branches supporting student's practical learning. the college is a 4 storey building containing almost 120-150 rooms including labs. Commerce dept have a separate block in the campus, it's a beautiful little garden hub for commerce students.

Admission

Admission process is as same for the all the colleges under the umbrella of Delhi University, making it easier for students applying for multiple colleges. Students have to login into the Samarth DU website and provide the required documents, select the course - college and arrange them in the order of choice. While all the colleges are maintain the standards of DU, some have been more popular based on the student life, academics and placements. ARSD is consistently known for getting into the top 5 ranking of NIRF. ARSD publish highest number of research papers in the DU, making it favorite for students opting science courses. I'm a science student and I couldn't lose the opportunity to study in one of the best colleges in India, so I immediately paid the fee and confirmed my admission once I got the mail from the University.

Faculty

4

Faculty in the college consists of Professors having PHDs, the lab assistants are well experienced too making the college good place to learn and grow around. The course consists of 4 core subjects (including GE) and 3 elective subjects making it 7 subjects in total. Marks are calculated with your performance in theory examinations and Internal assessment (which includes performance in tests, assignments and attentiveness in the class). Marking scheme is different for each semester, making it totally upto the University.

Night Life

4

College doesn't have any night life since the closing time is 5:30 in the evening, but ARSD lies center to the south campus in Satya Nikethan area, which accomodate the maximum number of students studying in the south campus. Night life in Satya Nikethan is full of students roaming in and out of food courts and fast food stalls. A massive park is open to students in Satya which have gym equipment, students spend their evenings walking and also sitting under the calm trees. Almost every eatery in the city have their branches in the Satya Nikethan. Burger king, KFC, Nagori chai, whatever you name it, it's in their. Streets usually wake up around 9'o clock in the morning and stays active till midnight. Streets are full of energy and joy especially during the festivals.

Students become eligible for campus placements around 5th to 6th semester. Highest package of 2024 was 25LPA. Usually 8CGPA is considered a sweet spot for campus placements plus it gets them easier to get into world class universities for post graduation.

Acharya Narendra Dev College - [ANDC], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Biomedical Sciences)
Reviewed on Mar 3, 2026(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.
