Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course structure is not revised any recently. Some faculty members also do have concern about it. So it is a challenge keeping up with the relevance. And debates and quizes are usually conducted as part of different programs in the department.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Course fee is 7500 in first year. But it decreases in the subsequent years as i had to approximately 6900 for second year. There is no categorical differences in fee structure. Government and several private scholarships are available like Central Sector scholarship by National Scholarship Portal NSP and private ones like HDFC Parivartan, Reliance scholarship etc. From the part of thr university, alumni scholarship is there for every bonafide students.

Campus Life

2

As campus is vast, we can find our space in the whole campus according to our liking. Annual Day ceremnies are held every year in JMI around the end of the October and several competitions are conducted by each departments during this time. There are different clubs under Dean of Student Welfare like Quiz, Drama clubs and also under specific departments like English literary club, Law Quiz club etc. The big student led event held in university is held by the Enactus JMI. Ecosoc from Economic department also come up with unique programmes. Zakir library is rich with availability of books, but coming to infrastructure, class rooms are not that developed. Its just a room space with some chairs, not every classrooms has sufficient digital facilites or even projectors. even though Jamia has nice sports facilities, apart from Sports quota students, sports events are not felt that explicitly conducted in JMI. But still the huge Bhopal ground witness several cricket events.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel registration itself is a huge paperwork especially for Girls in JMI. Hostel Infrastructure is good. Sometimes maintenance seems an issue and delay. In the case of food, there comes several complains each day from every hostels. They are located near to the campus. Rooms are mostly three seated and good. Affordability, considering it a central university its bit high but comparing to the stay outside in rented rooms or flat, its okay price. But each year they increases it without increment of any extra facilities. If not hostel, several Hostels are available around the campus. Rooms are also available in cheap rate and affordable if shared. Expenses can be adjusted according one's spending habit.

Admission

I chose this college for economic issues. It is relatively cheaper and provides wide opportunities based on its location. Admission to JMI is through both CUET and its own Entrance examinations. Admission to my course was through its own entrance. Eligibility is 12 th grade or equivalent. Exam is out of 100. Cut offs were 74 in General and 54 for Muslim women through which i got in

Faculty

4

Faculties are good and experienced. Relations between students and faculties are comparitively better in our department. Only issue we faced earlier was alloting PhD scholar for Core papers. I like almost every other faculties who have been teaching us. Exams are mainly semester wise. But tests are also conducted as part of Internal markings. Usually a lot of students do fail but i dont think its because of any failure from the department side, but their lack of preparation. Course structure is not revised any recently.

Night Life

3

Relatively JMI dont give tht modern chill vibe but calm vibes after classes as it gets afternoon finishing all the classes. Students find their groups in the vast spread Central canteen, Hygiene cafe and so on. A lot of them would spend the whole vening in the Ibn Sina Reading hall. Usually by the end of class time, Ibn Sina gets filled and its hard to fnd seats. Entire JMI space is safe for students. Zakir Library in JMI is like Asia's one of the largest libraries and it has bulk of resources to refer with. Gym is available in Boys' and Girls' hostel and also one in sports complex. But that one is not of easy access according to the timings and also unavailable to girls. And in hostel, even after paying Hostel maintenance fee, Gym fee is seperately collected even without a proper trainer

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

My course is on a difficult side . There are subjects like statistics and maths which are too practical and hard . But this opens my mind towards practical approaches. Moreover the demand for this course is much more then its related courses like bcom and bba.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Placements of my college are pretty good. The placement cell of my college is pretty active and facilitataes the placement process. Companies like Deloitte, EY and PWC often come to our college for placements with the average package being Rs. 8,00,000. After getting this degree, i will pursure another degree in MBA or I might also take a part in the placement process and pursue an MBA later. Students in semester 6 and further can take part in the placement process but there are internship fairs and summer internship programmes for students who are not eligible for placements
