This college used to have a good placement record. The placement cell of the college does good work. 70% of students used to get place before. But this stat has gone down in between 2012 to 2016. The highest packages are good.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course which is taught here is somehow equal to every college in WB. The course which is taught here is very relevant and useful regarding the competitive world. The course was divided into eight semesters.

Previously placement was good here. The placement cell of the college does good work. 70% of students used to get place before. But this stat has gone down in between 2012 to 2016. The highest packages are good. Yes it provide internship.

College Events

MCKVIE provides you with a good opportunity to excel in extra curricular activities. Freshers Party. Utopia yearly cultural fest. Robotics competition Science fair. Cricket Tournament Table Tennis tournament.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee for First year is Rs. 109200, second year Rs. 80,000 third year Rs 80000, fourth year, 80000. Total course fee is 349,200. It is normal fee structure like other colleges. Fee structure is really feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college has a very good respect in market. Our college gives loans through Banks and there are two scholarship schemes in our college which are WBFS and TFW. Freeship scheme was a good scholarship for the students.

Campus Life

We have two academic blocks and a basketball court. The lab facilities are good and well equipped with modern machines. There is central library which is one of the boasts of MCKVIE. Cultural fest are also held once in a year.

Hostel Facilities

The infrastructure is good when compared to other colleges in west bengal. Hostel is just 1.5 km away from the college. Hostel fee is little high. Wi fi facility is available. Fooding facility is not good.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

There is MCKV alumni association which is helpful in keeping touch with them. Alumni are very helpful. They help in get placed. We meet once in a year in alumni meet. They encourage our junior. We have a great network.

Admission

There was entrance exam held by West Bengal JEE. On basis of rank aquired in exam, there was counseling process and seat allotted as per rank. Candidate must apply for online counselling conducted by DTE, WB.

Faculty

Faculties are very good, intellectual. They are very helpful. Some of them also have published their own research paper. Modern teaching methods are applied as and when required. Most of them are IIT graduate and have vast industrial experience.

Placement Experience:

The placement statistics are off the charts, with 367 offers being made to 361 students in the recent edition. The student can seat for internshps offered by diffent companies that visit th campus in their pre-final year, while they are eligible to seat for the placements in their final year only. Apart from this there also other restrictions for seating in the placements like Cg should be above 8.5 and there should not have been any disciplinary charges against you, etc. The companies visiting the college also have their own preferences for selecting the students. In 2024-25 the highest CTC is nearly 2.5 crores p.a. offered to a student of CS branch. The EC department getting the most number of offers i.e. 73.

The students gets eligible as soon as they reach the 7th semester for the pre placement programme organised by the campus placement cell of MSIT. Mostly 95% of the companies are IT based and 5% are from core engineering companies. Wipro, TCS, Mindtree, LTI spark and many other companies came here for recruitment purpose. Highest package from my year was around 30 lpa and average package was around 3.5-4lpa. around 65% if the students got placed during my year

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.

I feel the theory part of our curriculum isn't much relevant or prepares for real - world applications, only some basic information is what I feel is necessary, although the lab and the practical part prepares us for real - world applications and teaches us a lot of things related to photography, news paper page building, survey report, etc. I believe they should have a better approach and teach more relevant real - world or in demand market skills which'll help the students in the future. MCKVIE, a good college for its price

I applied for admission in many colleges like Siliguri Institute of technology, Heritage Institute of technology, Techno Main Salt Lake, Calcutta Institute of Engineering and management. (Through management quota) From the above, I got a confirmed admission in CIEM(Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management) but i later opted for WBJEE Counseling to try my luck there. I put many colleges in My WBJEE preference list. It's very fortunate that I found out about MCKVIE at the last moment as it was a very good college considering its low price. From the colleges that i opted for both in counseling and management quota... most colleges were too expensive for me, or i was not able to get the desired course. MCKVIE was very suitable as I got CSE with a semester-wise tuition fees of around 55k. The admission process of my college was fairly systematic, I got Core CSE through WBJEE Counseling and got my seat throught WBJEE+JEE Rank. Overall admission experience was a bit lengthy process because it involved the Counseling procedures, but it was smooth and the officials were helpful and well prepared for all kinds of inconveniences...Read More
