Course Curriculum Overview

4

chose IIT, Delhi because it is one of the most reputed institutes for Engineering and provides us a secured future. It also has a strong alumni network that helps students a lot. The curriculum is well related with real world applications and also provides us lab facilities. The do prepare the students market ready. Mid sem after two months of course starting and end sem after next two months. Also quizzes occur within these two months in some courses.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise tution fees is two lakh rupees . For the first I paid one lakh and ninety two thousand rupees which includes tution fees hostel fees mess fees and other charges. For next sem onwards I have to pay a total of one lakh and forty eight thousand rupees including one lakh tution fees and hostel and mess fees. Institute also provides scholarships for on category and income basis. My batchmate is obc NCL and he paid only one third of total fees.

Campus Life

5

IIT Delhi is well known for its cultural fest known as Rendezvous which is considered the largest in north India. Also, there are more than 10 clubs which are very active and hold events regularly. Campus life at IIT Delhi is just amazing with outstanding seniors and juniors. It provides a lot of opportunities for students to be involved in co-curricular activities. The library has three floors and have a large variety of books. They also provides e books which you can access easily. The institute has very good sports facilities where you are provided with a large variety of choices of sports. They have coaches for almost every sport.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is also provided. Some hostels (2 of them) have air conditioners, but some hostels have average infrastructure. Every hostel has a gym and various sports facilities. My hostel is named as jwalamukhi established in 1961. It does not have that much good infrastructure but is average as it is the only hostel which was not renovated. UG students are not rovided with AC hostels. All first year students are offered hostel facilities. The mess is really amazing with a large variety of food available here. Also on some occasions special dinners are organised with a lot of variety(you can fill your stomach with starters and cold drinks only).

Admission

I only applied for IIT DELHI for any course and I do got admission here. One major reason for choosing IIT Delhi is that it is the most reputed institute for engineering. Here you would have an amazing peer group and amazing seniors. It provides you an amazing alumni network for helping you secure your future. The admission process is simple. You just have to clear JEE mains and advance with a good rank.

Faculty

5

The faculties are highly qualified, and their teaching is good, but they do prioritize research. If you focus properly in the class, then you will be able to understand their lectures. They are also cooperative and conduct doubt sessions. Aditya Narayan agnihotri is professor of physics. Most students dislike him as he gives less marks. But he very very humble and cheerful person. Exams are not much difficult but average goes high due toh brilliant students. Very less amount of student fails in exams.

Night Life

5

Nightlife is also amazing here with chill and silent and peaceful environment. Almost every hostel has a night mess which runs whole night upto 4 am. Every time you visit you will always find 5 to 10 people there. Also good available there is nice. All fun activities happens at night. There is no time restriction in hostels. You can move in and out anytime. Outside Iit delhi there is a lot of place to visit in delhi but inside campus is also amazing like iit market and haunted bridge.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester onwards. The average package is around 20 LPA and the highest package is 85 LPA. The placements percentage for top branches is around 80% and many big companies like Amazon, Uber, Google, Microsoft, etc. offer placements. After my degree I plan on securing a placement on the tech field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
