Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum in IIT Delhi is quite fluid as it provides with the opportunity to take or drop courses given that you have the required pre-requisites, and the course is designed every 10 years to make sure that the course is relevant. But it still does not happen, courses like physics lab have faulty equipments which leaps to uncertainty. The exams are difficult here, and students goes through a lot of stress and fear of missing out.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are a lot of internship opportunities present like we can apply for research intern at the end of our second year while a corporate intern in our third year. Students apply for companies according to their future goals. Though getting an internship is hard as compared to placement.

Placement Experience

1

Placement interviews are held at the end of the seventh semester. Students having a CGPA of 7 and above are eligible for sitting in placements. Highest package in my course goes around 30 LPA, while average is 29 LPA. Mostly all the students who sit in placements get one. Currently I am thinking for pursuing M.BA from IIM to pursue consultancy.

Fees and Financial Aid

So my tuition fee is 100000 per semester and I have a total of 8 semesters apart from it there are other charges too like an examination fee of 1500, gym fees of 1250, internet and computer access fee of 100, medical fees of 750, registration fees of 750, student distress fund scheme of 400, transportation fees of 100 and hostel rent fee of 8600. At the time of admission, there are a few one-time security deposits too, which vary in every admission and can be accessed on the main website of IIT Delhi. For low-income families, i.e. below 5 lakh to 2 lakh, the tuition fee is 33333, and for SC/ST students and people with income less than 1 lakh, the tuition fee is ?0. Though there are ways by which you can avail for fee recession it's not available for all and is given based on merit. More information is present on the internet and the main website of IIT Delhi.

Campus Life

5

In October, we have a cultural fest known as Rendezvous, which is also Asia's largest college fest. In January - February, we have a tech-fest known as Tryst There are a lot of books available in the central library from thesis to other academic and course books, and it's quite easy to issue one. Apart from the central library.. hostels have libraries too, which consist of fiction/non-fiction books as well as academics. It does have great infrastructure and labs, too, but it's a bigger picture. In detail, the computers in the lab are old, and keyboards have serious issues; the physics lab equipment is mostly faulty, while the chemistry lab equipment is quite good. There is SAC(Student Activity Council), which has rooms for cultural clubs as well as sports spaces, and apart from that, there is a Mittal complex to which you can get a membership to okay sports. There are clubs and sites like the Board of Students Welfare, which give access to previous year's question papers to counsellors. Apart from that, there are a lot of different clubs too, like literature, debating, arts and crafts, fashion, photography etc.

Hostel Facilities

2

Yes, I have opted for a hostel, but due to the lack of hostel rooms, we do face a lot of issues, like my hostel room is designed according to a single person but two people are accommodated in it, we have a single cupboard and a single table too, which does create a lot of issues. B.tech students and girls are the top priority people while allocation of hostels, which is done at the time of admission, like I got a mail about the hostel which I was allocated i.e Shivalik hostel. The menu in my hostel is quite good but the quality isn't, breakfast and dinner are mostly fine but can't say the same for lunch, but yeah they do provide a lot of things to eat. The mess charges are 36000 per semester and 8600 as hostel rent.

Admission

The reasons why I chose IIT Delhi were that I wanted to pursue engineering for my future goals, and it's one of the leading universities in the world. To get admission to IIT Delhi we are bound to take an entrance examination which consists of two rounds, first "JEE mains" for which I had two attempts and the best one is taken into consideration, then the conducting board releases the minimum merit to appear for the second part i.e "JEE Advanced" and those people who qualify it get their All India rank, and based on those rank one can get admission to IIT. My All-India rank was around 2500, so I was able to get into IIT Delhi, which is even close to my hometown in Rajasthan. Another important reason I chose IIT Delhi over other IIT's was its great and highly intellectual peer group.

Faculty

1

The faculty is great but their teaching methods are quite in-efficient. One of the best faculty members is Sanghi Sir, his way of teaching mechanics is parallel to none. Professor Vivek mukundam, Veeravali's teaching was not interesting and efficient. Exam pattern depends upon the course policy, some have frequent exam while some courses have assignments.

Night Life

5

Central library is open till late night. We have night messes, which starts at 9pm and close at 5am. Most of the students sleep a little and have hangouts at nights...going out or playing games if the exma sare not there otherwise they get converted to late night study sessions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Placement Experience:

The placements are in good terms, many students get a placement with nice package. Students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd Semester. TCS made about 7 offers as far as I know. One can expect the highest package of 2.5crore and an average of 200000. About 80% of students gets placement because of the skills they learned wheres the rest 20% are only at college to do mischievous acts. After getting the degree, I will find a job and then after enough capital I will start my own startup.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
