Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is specially designed for students that they learn about the current industry which requires tech based knowledge. The curriculum suits very well on applications for further academic pursuits. Areas of improvement. Almost everything in the curriculum is graded, so if someone wants to simply gain knowledge as an amateur, the pressure of grades may succumb the student to feel stressed due to grading system. Exams are as frequent as about 2 exams per month in some course and 4 exams in other courses. Difficulty level may vary from medium to high

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships are readily available for students in department of computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering etc. however non circuital branches do not offer much internships in core activities. Jane Street is one of the many companies hiring interns from the top branches. The knowledge of Roles and projects is not currently under the jurisdiction of my knowledge, being in the first year.

Placement Experience

3

Campus placements are available in the college. These are more prompt for students in branches like computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering etc. However, students in non circuital branches are required to work hard to develop skill sets in technology fields to get placed. About 40% students get placed in some sort of job, with an average package of about 1300000 INR. Students become eligible for placement as soon as they complete their course credits.

Campus Life

4

Rendezvous is the annual fest in IIT Delhi, it is North India's largest cultural fest. Also, there are various social clubs, drama club, photography and filming club, dance club etc. Books are easily accessible in the central library and the range varies from fictional novels to academic encyclopaedia. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and smart boards. Classes are air conditioned. Sports facilities are well diversed, a sports complex is constructed for various indoor activities, apart from that a football and cricket ground is present, also to tennis courts are also there.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are fine. However old hostels look out-dated and have become fragile. Washrooms are not very clean. Mess facilities are good, except just the food tastes bad, food is hygienic though. The menu changes every month and is decided on weekly basis. The items in the menu are diverse, varying from dosa, idli to dhokla and jalebi etc.

Admission

The only college other than what I am in that I chose and couldn't get was IIT Bombay, of course. I couldn't get it because of my JEE advanced rank. Next I chose IIT Delhi because of its strong reputation in India and worldwide. It's strong alumni network is very helpful for startups. JEE advanced is required to be cleared with a good rank to get admission in this college.

Faculty

4

The faculty student relationship depends completely on the students. The professors are very reachable, once students determine to gain knowledge they will gain a lot from them. The only problem may be that professors communicate only in english language. In each semester( 2 semesters in a year) there are about 4 main exams, other small quizzes may also be there. Exams are quite difficult. The curriculum is specially designed for students to learn loads and loads.

Night Life

5

There are night messes in most of the hostels, in which student come to hangout. Various fast food items are available there. Also just outside the campus is also a busy market area which has eating places in it. Gym is available for each hostel, and also a gym common for all in the campus is there. Spacious central library which closes just for a few hours between 4am and 6 am. The locality is very safe as the campus is peppered with security guards here and there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
