Course Curriculum Overview
The courses in first year are fixed. We cannot change them because IIT Delhi gives their students a chance for department changes. Every student will study the same course in first year. Branch wise subjects will began from second year. The subjects that I have learnt till now were good except a few which I didn't like. Other than that most of them were awesome.
Fees and Financial Aid
For general the fees is 1 lakh per year with some additional expenses which makes it 1 lakhs and 15 thousands. For SC/ST there is a full tuition fee wavier. For OBC/Gen -EWS : 2/3 fees of the tution fees is waived.
Campus Life
As the first semester ended my total CGPA was 7 but I enjoyed a lot here. Everything is designed in such a way that you will react to a lot of people. You will get to learn many things. There were a lot of fun fests and events, sports, cultural activities to do. Come here you will also enjoy a lot while studying here.The Infrastructure at IIT Delhi is great. You will find a lot of computer labs. There are dedicated labs for every course. There is a 3d modeling lab, Textile technology lab, chemistry labs, physics lab, etc. The basic amenities are also provided. There is nothing to hate about IIT Delhi.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are old and initially you may not like it. But gradually you will be familiar with it as spend 4 -5 years here. In summer you may face heat but it does not last much longer because rainy season gets started. Hostel has everything except good rooms. If you are a M.Tech or Ph.D student IIT Delhi has better hostels for you that are facilitated with air conditioners and other luxury facilities.
Admission
I got textile technology here in IIT Delhi because I got a low rank in entrance exam. around 5591. I could have got CSE or circuital branches in other tier IITs but I chose IIT Delhi due to high exposure and more opportunities to grow. I may also pursue something else according to my interest. A better college will definitely serve as a better stage for my personality growth. IIT Delhi also provides a root to many startups. If I came up with an idea they will definitely help me with it financially, technically and through all the things which is necessary.
Faculty
Faculty members here are good. They teach everything related to the course and are always open for your queries. According to other IIT professors here are better. In a particular course, many professors collaborate with each other to complete the course. Also there are teaching assistant that help in the course and the course coordinator leads it. Yoyouwill have a very awesome experience studying with these professors
Interview Experience
No there was no group discussion for admission only there was a set of exams known as jee mains and advanced. I went to aakash institute for preparation of jee and also learnt few concepts through youtube.
Night Life
Every Hostel has dedicated gym , canteens and night messes . Also lawnss where hostel activites are done. The night messes are the best spot for people to hangout at night. high quality food is available at low price
