- Infrastructure is good. Though the hostel here are quite old.
- Placements are available and a lot of opportunities are made available.
Dislikes
- Faculty of this college Sometimes you have to argue with the Teaching Assistants for the marks.
- The policy of Department change. Students are more stressed about their branch here.
- NO PROPER COUNSELLING SERVICES ARE BEING OFFERED FOR STUDENTS STRUGGLING WITH DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am pursuing B.Tech here in Production and Industrial Engineering. I am in first year. I know in my mechanical engineering department if I am an average student then I will get 6 grades out of 10 here which are very less. If you are in other department like computer science engineering and electrical engineering you will get 7 grades if you are an average student.
Internships Opportunities
As I am in first year, I don't know much about this. But as I heard from my mentor which is in 4th year now. There is much opportunities in 3rd year for Internship, companies like Goldman Sachs, Google, Qualcomm hires for internship. I don't know about projects.
Placement Experience
7th Semester students going to 8th sem. Google Microsoft Amazon Flipkart Qualcomm are top recruiters. Around 80 percent got placed and some go for UPSC and startups.For majority companies you have to keep your cgpa 7+ or atleast 6.5+ to get a shortlist with no disciplinary action on you.Recruiters involve jpmc, piramal, dr. Reddy pharma, mckinsey, bain, tower research, janestreet, akasa airline, nomura research, 2 cents capital etc. For hft's highest package offered is 4cr and average of 45 lpa, while overall average of our college lies around 27lpa ctc. I will go for non core jobs
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees that I am paying in this college around 212000 rs per year and there are some other charges like gym,alumni fees, distress fund. If you belong to a lower income family which should be less than 5 lakh then you have to pay 33000 per sem and if less than 1 Lakh then you have to pay 0 rs tution fees. If you belong to SC/ST/PWD then your tuition fees is Zero rs. There is also some scholarship depends on different criteria.
Campus Life
Spranza(September), RDV(October ),Tryst(March)are most popular and biggest fest, Tryst is technical fest. Central Library is situated ahead of Dogra Hall, many books you can purchase there. Classroom are covered with centralised AC's. A sports complex has made to play many outdoor games like volleyball, squash etc. Yes, Many clubs like Dance, Music, Robotics, eDC are operated by students.
Hostel Facilities
Mirror, Cupboard and Bed is provided in room. My mess food is good and normal but price is high. To register in hostel you have to go to caretaker office of hostel. But the hostel availability is less for other students like MTech and PhD
Admission
Because IIT Delhi stands 2nd in Nirf ranking in Engineering Category and strong Alumni Network and placements.Diverse culture and people, got a chance to make new friends and new things, people are friendly but beware of people who would use you. But otherwise everyone is friendly, so you'll get a new friend circle where you can share moments.
Faculty
Faculties of Computer science engineering and electrical engineering are much better than mechanical engineering faculties. Mechanical engineering faculties are very strict and they give very less grade to students who are performing better in class and whereas in computer science engineering and electrical engineering professors provides high quality education and gives good grades to every intelligent and hard working student.
Night Life
Gym is situated in Student Activity Centre(SAC). Cafe Coffee Day is a good cafe situated near Main Building and Central Library also. There is no specified timing of hostel and campus. Dilli16, Jia Sarai, SDA Market are best places to visit nearby campus
