The campus is so big and has several places to visit.
One never gets bored in this campus because he/she will be occupied with activities.
One can explore their passion as IIT Kharagpur has all required amenities and faculty.

It is not very well connected to different places like other IITs.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is relevant to its vision. The subjects cover a wide range of all topics and tools required by the students in their future. It is an evolving couse and continuous improvements are there on the way.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Placement Experience

The campus placements are there in the final year of the course. The particular instructions of our course will be confirmed in due time. IIT Kharagpur prepares the students to stand on their feet and seize opportunities in various domains if one of them doesn't work out.

Fees and Financial Aid

First Semester fees is about 59750. I didn't apply for scholarship. Registration fees 10000, tution fee 3000 per semester, other semester fee 8550, rest charges include mess and hostel fees. These also cover insurance.

Campus Life

The overall experience is pretty good. Events keep on happening all round the year in our campus. Two famous fests that tentatively happen in January are Kshitij and Spring Fest. Other than that there are societies and clubs of various specialities where like minded students can collaborate and create something productive. They are mostly student-run and prepare the students for future opportunities. The library has all necessary and extra books and journals for reference of any work and field. The issue process is seamless.

Admission

This college has a name for itself in the advancements and opportunities it provides. One can explore his passions, because IIT Kharagpur has all required equipments, amenities and trained instructors. This course gets admission through NCET exam. The admission process was simple. The offer letters were sent through mail and then on payment of the admission fees, the seat was confirmed. Then after the physical document verification, the admission was confirmed.

Faculty

Our course has been started in 2023. The faculty to student ratio is appropriate. There are 2-3 teachers assigned to each course. They are quite approachable and helpful. The exam structure is similar to other courses. It consists of mid semester and end semester examinations.

Night Life

The nightlife is as good as the day adventures. Long walks and enjoyment with friends is what all experience. Some canteens work 24x7. They are one of the favourite hangout spots. The locality is quite safe at night as well.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Placement Experience:

Our college has a very active placement cell that fetches jobs for everyone who needs and deserve it. The highest package was 24 lacs per annum last year and it is only expected to go up this round almost all students to set for placements are placed but in my department specifically most opt for higher studies like myself.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.

Clg Review

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
