What Students Say
Likes
- Teachers are helpful towards the students and are willing to take extra classes for doubt clearance after the routine wise classes are over
- Library is stocked with useful books as per syllabus and new books are regularly ordered as per requisition.
- Ambience in very student friendly and bullying is inexistent in the campus
Dislikes
- Number of exams is too high. In 1 semester, one final term along with 2 mid terms in unnecessary. 1 mid term is fine considering the study time students get.
- Despite being an autonomous body, instead of making their own curriculum, they are more eager to follow the structure of IITs (a notice regarding this was recieved by the students on 6/12/24
Course Curriculum Overview
The reputation of the college and the placement opportunities attracted me. The curriculum is very relevant to the real world and it's applications are well taught by the faculty Areas of improvement maybe in the case of using more practical ways to explain concepts. The frequency of exams is very high, which is a thing students hate the most about the college. Lack of study time.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placement from after the 6th semester Amazon, PVC, TCS are regular companies that visit the college. Number of offers range from 6-7 for each of these big companies. Highest package is 30-35k and average is around 15-20k. Most of the students are allowed to sit for placements. Around 80% surely. A lot of companies come for interviews so there is a lot of opportunity. I plan to sit for placements and get a job after the degree. And continue with my MBA alongside my job
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wise fees 120000 Fees are increasing Expected to increase to 160000 per year yet Due to this surge in fees, the number of admissions in BBA has fallen drastically this year. Financial aids include educational loan Course fees for BCA are also similar to BBA
Campus Life
Annual events include the ashram cup (August), federation Cup (July) Accessibility of books in the Library is very high. Lot of books available to borrow and study. New books are ordered upon requisition. Basketball, karate offered on campus No student run social groups in the campus
Admission
I also applied to EIILM and got a confirmed admission. However, I chose IEM because of its reputation and placement opportunities Yes I got a rejection from Xavier's. I couldn't make it there due to cutoff marks. I didn't meet the mark. Admission process is pretty simple. No examinations required. Number of seats is limited and considered too low as per number of applicants. Minimum 65% marks needed in class 12 exams. No admission test needed. Admission experience is smooth and easy
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is around 1:30. The faculty are approachable and very eager to help. Priyanka Singh Ma'am - she explains the concepts very well and provides notes for future references Bhargav chakraborty sir - the favourite teacher of many students. Very helpful during exams. Gives us personal time to clear doubts. Explains concepts in a very fun and effective manner. There are 3 exams per semester. One final semester, and 2 mid terms before the final semester. The difficulty level is moderate, however the final semester papers are quite lengthy. The exams are quite relevant to the course curriculum and tests out skills as well as our understandings of concepts.
Night Life
No gyms available nearby at a walking distance atleast. Nearest one around 3-4 kms away. There are many cafeterias. A lot of them. Loads. Hostel timings are - night entry before 8 for both boys and girls Campus timings are - 9-4 for students and 9-5 for teachers Famous hangout places are the RBD area and the college square
