Course Curriculum Overview

The college is an autonomous institute which is backed but the Kerala technical University. Being an autonomous institute ther the college offers an updated and refined version of the standard KTU syllabus. The curriculum focuses more on skull developement over mere memorizing of facts

Internships Opportunities

Internship is must for all students. These internship opportunities are mostly provided from the sixth semester. The college makes sure that all the students receive first hand experience in the technical field through internships.

Placement Experience

TKM offers a lot of campus placement opportunities. Many multi national companies comes to our college yearly. The highest salary package has gone as high as 30 lakhs whole the average package is 7 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay around 10k per year as fees as It is a government seat. For management seats a person will have to pay around 6L. Other expenses will round up to about 20k for both govt and management seats. Many scholarships are available.

Campus Life

The college board an annual terminal festival called Hestia. There are many clubs in the campus. All the classes are smart are well maintained. The college pays constant attention to the sports like of students. It occurs ample opportunities for sportspersons to sharpen their skills.

Admission

I chose this college as it's near to my home. Also it's one of the most renowned institutes in Kerala with much better placements records than other institutes. The faculty members are one of the best in India. The admission process is mainly through entrance ranks. Although it is not needed in the car of management seats.

Faculty

The college has a faculty to student ratio of around 1:20. The mechanical department faculty are very sincere and are passionate about their job. The daily consists of young and old professors. There are 2 series exams and an end semester exam in every semester.

Night Life

The campus has a well equipped gym that can be accessed any time. It has a huge canteen which is very clean and safe. The campus has a large central library as well as individual department libraries. There are many theatres, shopping areas, restaurents and a beach near the campus.

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

Students normally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (3rd year). TIST has ties with many companies that visit the campus for placement drives every year. Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The length of course curriculum is very short. It is very difficult for both students and teachers to complete the syllabus in limited time period.The exam timing are also very conjusted and students are facing many difficulties because of it .

IIST - A good campus to live but with high restrictions.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is there in the campus.A lot of companies visit to the campus. From this year more private companies are visiting because of the breaking of bond with ISRO due to which students are getting good package.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
