Course Curriculum Overview

IIEST , Shibpur has great legacy for research and it promotes a lot of research in electronics so I preferred to take that course. The circullum is structured in a way it makes a student to be real-world ready . They could include more technical subjects so that students can have more options to choose after relieving form college Exams frequency is perfect and difficulty is hard for ETC stream

Internships Opportunities

Many companies offered internships TI(Texas Instruments), Celebal Technologies, PWC, Accenture , Natwest We got really good projects which enhanced technical skills that helped for placements.Companies provided good assistance in clarifying the tasks

From 7th semester students get eligible for placements Many companies visited like Wells fargo, Deutsche Bank, BNY Mellon, JK Tech, HSBC, PWC ,SMS , Cater pillar, Tcs, JPMorgan, Chubb......so on Many were offered 60%

Fees and Financial Aid

Till 4th semester per semester asked for us to pay is around 62k and then after 4th semester the fee increased to 67k. Campus Life

REBECCA held in march, MUSE held in February, ABHYANTRIX held in , IMPETUS, REVELATION held in January Library contains wide variety of books almost all kinds of books are available Supports for competition from other Nits and IITs There are many clubs Reflexobeta - Dance Club Camerbuff - Filming club Catharsis- Photography club EDC

Hostel Facilities

Luxury hostel rooms (williams), Food is also manageable more of bengali type,Mandatory sweet every night Meal quality is good and we get many varieties to choose from Registration process will be smooth , Rooms are enough for affordablity they coset really less

Admission

I have also appiled to Nit silchar but choose IIEST shibpur for its wide supporting research opportunities. I didn't get rejection but I choose IIEST over others after getting reviews from seniors and history. I got admitted through JOSAA after clearing Mains exam.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is good, Faculty are really helpful and supportive Electronics subjects are bit tough and hard to clear. They are very relavant to the course curricullum and outside industry.

Night Life

There is a gym that offers diff timings for men and women, a total 4 cafeterias in college Girls hostel closing timings 11:30pm Odissey, Netaji Bhavan, Oval ground The locality is completely safe with gaurds 24x7

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Percentage of students getting placemnets : 86%. After getting the degree my plan is to take a decent job and to be finanancially stable.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from 7 and 8 semester also their are many placement on thee intern companies. thier are total of 50 t0 60 companies that visits year which leads to very good placement percentage, in mining its above 90 percent. companies which come are infosys, microsoft, google , coal india, tcs, pwc etc. the higest pacage was 39 lacs by coal india. as mentioned above the placement is very good and almost everybranch placement is between 79 to 95 percentage of student which are placed, their are many mass recruiter if you didnt get the best pacakge you still have the chance to get a good package from the mass recruiter. my plan after degree is to advance in computer science even if i dont have the branch but i have the passion to do coding and become a web developer also i will try to get some more degree like mba and mtech and i will also try if i get selection to study abroad.

A GOOD COLLEGE WITH GOOD PLACEMENT , SPORTS FACILITY.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

i applied for nit jaipur, surat, kurukshetra, allahbad and nagpur. i wanted to stay near my home or at a distace so i can go home in 3 to 6 hours of train. i didnt got that collage because of poor methods of counselling in jossa which changed almost my wwhole future. admission process was very simple with many people sitting their to help even if youu have any problem you can contact them and also delay the document registration. the fee payment was very smoth avijeet benerjee sir who handle all this have all the knowledge about fee payment and other acadmic issues if you need any help regarding anythhing you can contact him he will definatly help you. the admission was done through jee and gate and the cutoff data is already in collage dunia portal. over all the experiance was 8|10...Read More

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

My admission happened through JOSAA by considering the JEE marks and rank. The counselling process is similar for every students in the college, expect for the foreign students apply through DASA. My personal experiences of college life in IIEST Shibpur.

IIEST Shibpur is one of the oldest Institutes in West Bengal. Formerly, the Institute was known as Bengal Engineering College. All about IIEST Aero Life????

I have not applied in any other college Before taking admission in this college. I have availed OBC-NCL quota and homestate quota for the admission. The admission criteria for my program is based on the ranking in JEE mains exam.The minimum cut off rank to take admission in this program is 30,000 and my ranking was 19,000 in OBC-B quota. The admission process in this college is done by counselling.This counselling is done by JOSAA. They publish name pannel for the eligible students to take admission.There are 7 paneel rounds along with 2 special rounds in the counselling procedure.
