An honest review about my college

The campus is spread over an area of 43 acres. There are different colleges in one campus like junior college, college of engineering, institute of technology, management college and few more. There is a temple and a lake besides it which is very charming and pleasant to our mind. Canteen facility is available with a good quality of food but it's a bit costly. College is located at a distance of 1.5 km from Andheri railway station and 200 metres from Azad nagar metro station. The only negative point which I found out is the 75% compulsory attendance rule and no hostel facility. Except those negative points, overall college is worth 5 star.

As the college is autonoms, the course curriculum includes the current subjects which are in demand in the industry right now. All the out dated technologies are wiped out from the curriculum. There are 3 exams conducted throughout the semester out of which 1 is unit test of 20 marks and the other is final exam of 60 marks. Also, there are in-sem exams which has a weightage of 20 marks. All those 3 exams sums upto a total of 100 marks.

In terms of placements, our college is the best one in Mumbai with more than over 35 companies who visited for campus recruitment for MCA. The graph of the students being placed is rapidly increasing year-on-year. For the students who are willing to do an internship, there is an incubation center located in the MCA building itself named SP-TBI. Certificates are provided to every student persuing an internship whereas stipend depends totally on the startup. The most important thing is that most of the startups have flexible working hours and few of them allow the interns to work from home.

Various events such as Ocolus, Udaan, Matrix, etc are celebrated in our college. Apart from that, there is a special committee of MCA department which organises various events and workshops from time to time. Each and every event is celibrated with full enthusiasm by the students.

As the college has been granted with autonomy, the amount of fees has been drastically reduced. Reservation concession is applicable for the students under different categories. The overall fee structure is worthy for this college.

The loan facility is available for the students if anyone is not able to pay the lumpsum amount at a time. The loan needs to be repayed within 3 years. Also, for those students who are under caste categories, can avail the benefit as prescribed by the Government of India.

Various extra curricular activities are conducted by the college throughout the year. Sports activities are conducted annually once. There are various coding competitions organised. The college also encourages students to participate in various inter college activities. The labs are air conditioned with well equipped latest computers on which we can work on all the technologies which are included in our curriculum.

There is no hostel yet for MCA department. Instead, there are various PG's available nearby but you have to shell out a huge amount per room as the location is Andheri which is quite a posh location. So one can stay with say 4-5 students together which will reduce the cost of the room per person.

Many alumnis visits our college from time to time. Various seminars and sessions are conducted by them which are organised by our department. They share their current industry experience and also share various tips and tricks which would help us for our placements ans well as for our future.

The faculty of our college is well trained and most of them hold the doctorate's degree. Everyone of them have an industry experience which is very important as it helps them to teach us in an industry oriented way. The staff is very helpful and they have an individual attention on each and every student.
