Likes

I liked the infrastructure , staff and mangement.
The professors are dedicated to teach and solve the doubts.
The most I liked about the college is my library which has a lot of studying as well as fun material.

Dislikes

Firstly, the infrastructure was not up to the mark, with outdated classroom and limited access to modern facilities like high speed internet or well equipped labs, which make learning less effective.
Secondly, the administrative support was lacking, as issues like delayed responses to student concerns.
Lastly, the diverse extra circular activities made campus life feel monotonous.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 15 thousand rupees yearly as my tution fees, 2000 rupees as my registration fees and 5000 rupees as my development fees. The amount paid by SC/ST is 7000 rupees/year and that by OBC is 8500/year.

Campus Life

The most I like bout my college is its library and garden area. There are multiple activities to indulge in like sports, dance, learning new music instruments. The campus infrastructure and services met my expectation almost very well. The college has proper canteen area, clean drinking water, a safe environment, friendly and encouraging teachers, access to computers and internet.

Admission

i choose this college over others for a combination of practical reasons and availaiblity among the colleges I applied to this one had relatevely easier admission cretreria and most straight foward process which included an online application submission of essential documents and intreview.

Faculty

The facluty members at my college were at mixed experience. while some were highly knowledgeable , approchable, and passionate about their subjects, other seemed less engaged with outdated teaching methods.

Night Life

The night life around my campus is pretty cool. We have beautiful and aethetic cafes, there are gyms which have good equipments and are safe for women to use at noght. I hang out with my friends twice every week and explore new places around our college. Overall experience of mine is good and I feel safe.

DSC is a decent college!

Placement Experience:

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Placement Experience:

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Gargi : A home to a stranger

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Truth About Hidden IPCW (DU)

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option
